I only changed my status to engaged. I didn’t post a pic of my ring until a few days later after being bombarded with texts/ private messages of nosey people asking to see it.

Nothing..I think FB encourages members to put information that should remain private. I dont have anything personal on FB.

Well, I wasn’t on facebook when he proposed the first time [he used a heriloom ring his mother gave specifically for the propsal], and then he told me to choose my own ring. This was about 2 years ago. Once my actual ring came in, I posted a picture of [well, 11 pictures of it!], and then a few hours later he told me he needed to propose with the new ring, too – so I was blessed with 2 proposals!

We kept people hanging for a few days until we told FI’s parents :P, i kept people guessing with this status “I’m so excited! i cannot wait to share my news in a few days :D, but until then hush hush ;)”.

I had a very full inbox lol, after we told FI’s parents i put up a pic with the caption “Well everyone, now that it’s new years day This is the surprise! I’m going to be Mrs Arends!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ Daniel proposed to me on sunday ♥

I had disabled my facebook account for about 2 months at the time. I waited about two weeks after the proposal and then I re-activated my account to post the picture since it happened christmas eve and added the life event. I left that up for about 2 weeks then re-disabled my account.

I wrote: “I can’t believe we are engaged! And can’t wait to marry the love of my life next year!”. He wrote: “I just want the world to know that after years of begging, ____ has finally begrudgingly agreed to marry me!! I think congratulations are in order for me and condolences in order for her…”

We also changed our pics to ones of us right after our engagement, with our engagement banner, and my ring ๐Ÿ™‚

I didn’t post anything til a few weeks later. I posted something along the lines of “just picked up my ring…fits perfectly now =)” The next day (after I saw my grandmother) I changed my status to engaged.

Fiance was dying to post the announcement. I wanted to wait until a little later in the day, so when he changed his status and I accepted, it showed a pic of him dressed as Santa (long story, he does it for work) and he followed up with something like, “Oh, that’s an awful picture to go with this!”

I posted, “He said he couldn’t wait any longer to make me his fiance, so I said yes to this wonderful man and we rang in the new year together.”

I didn’t post any ring pics…for whatever reason, I thought that would be extremely obnoxious. I still think that.

I’m not very original, I wrote “I said yes!” and posted a picture of my ring.
