What did you receive for valentines this year?

We are just cooking a homemade chicken parmesan together topped with a spinach-riccotta mixture, mozzarella, and marinara from the expensive part of the store (splurge!) and having a bottle of wine with it. This is our third Valentine’s Day together, and we have never really done anything big. Just not our thing.

Nothing. We both work like dogs and won’t even see each other today. πŸ™
I also work in a funeral home so flowers don’t do anything for me like ‘normal’ females.
However, we’re going to the movies this weekend to see the Dark Crystal, and will be going to a fancy restaurant in the city, and the following weekend he’s taking me to New Husband to do some snowmobile riding and skiing since I’ve never been and wanted to go.
…it’s nice to have something to look forward to when you work this hard and do nursing school {insert snoozy face emoji}

He got me flowers and a teddy bear holding a chocolate blueberry snack. And I got him flowers from the farmers market. We’re going to celebrate over the weekend with a picnic.

His cold, lol.  Red tulips, Starbucks latte, a DVD series, and licorice.

We generally just go to dinner for vday, which we’ll do this weekend because shift work means we don’t really see each other during the week. There were flowers waiting for me when I got home from work, which was a great surprise, since Fiance usually only gets me flowers while he’s deployed! ❀️

We almost are never together for Valentine’s Day, but he sent me Godiva dark chocolates yesterday. β™‘ I’m visiting him this weekend where we’ll do a nice dinner out.

We aren’t big Valentines Day people, but we did exchange cards, and Darling Husband got me a bag of Cheetos (my latest pregnancy craving).

Nothing big, but was just perfect for me. I got flowers and Godiva chocolate dipped oreos! So so good and we can both enjoy them  πŸ™‚

I surrpised him and got his watch engraved with a special symbol of ours.

We didn’t exchange gifts. I cooked and the cost goes on our grocery bill πŸ™‚ I splurged and bought a bag of ginormous shrimp and top sirloin steak and made definitely the best meal either of us have ever eaten in our lives.

Including all the sides (roast potatoes, broccoli, sauteed mushrooms, bearnaise sauce) and the chocolate strawberry cheesecake I made for dessert, the entire meal probably cost us $25 or less for both of us even though both steaks were over 8 oz and we had about 7 massive shrimp each. I bought everything on sale. No way we could have gotten that for under $60-70 a plate anywhere.

Well my SO had to fly to Switzerland for work for a week so he told me he wasn’t coming back ‘til today but he actually flew back yesterday, Valentine’s Day and surprised me. His plane landed a bit late but we were still able to have a nice dinner at a Korean restaurant. For Valentine’s, we do smaller presents and save the more expensive ones for birthdays & our anniversary. He bought me these 2 Starbucks mugs that I collect. I gave him an Adidas Store gift card.

We didn’t do much. It’s not something we really celebrate because we both prefer that we show each other our love every day of the year. However but he did bring me home some pretty white roses, which I appreciated πŸ˜€ And so did our cat. He kept trying to eat them lmao.We will probably be going to have a nice meal out this weekend instead so I’m looking forward to that.
