Nothing. I was hurt that he didn’t put effort into it being that it was our first married Valentine’s Day.

We said we weren’t going to do anything (it was our 10th valentine’s day together), but he surprised me with the best gift- FOOD! He got two custom vegan cinnamon rolls, strawberry cheescake and strawberry chocolate from Cinnoholic. They were divine! I devoured them both in two hours. He also got a brownie, but we shared that the next day.

Our plan was to make dinner together and watch movies on Netflix, but he wasn’t feeling good so we did Subway instead.

He took me to a restaurant the night before. I bought him chocolates and that was it. We just got married 2 weeks ago and spent a lot of money on the honeymoon and everything else, so it’s okay. Plus he’s not too big on gifts or surprises I guess.

Dinner out at my favorite restaurant 🙂 which was a nice treat since we have been saving really aggressively since we got engaged. Then we came home and rented a cute movie on demand. Simple and easy ❤️

diamondbeez :  pretty pretty earrings…

I got a card with many hand-drawn cats, a pot of white roses (still blooming, more buds than I can count, though we’re moving out of the country in a month’s time), and a super fluffy Marks and Spencer Rosie dressing gown to keep me warm (i get really cold these days)…

I was really surprised to get some really fancy chocolates this year! We never do anything for Valentines Day, and prefer to just do nice things for each other when the mood strikes – I had bought him some craft beers a few days before. We made a steak dinner together and had some wine, it was really nice.

Not having a go, but curious – why in so many cases is it only the guy that has to buy gifts on Vday? I never got that.

I don’t think we’ve ever exchanged gifts for Valentine’s Day… it’s not really our thing. We always enjoy a nice meal together, though! We usually cook but this year my fiancé took me to my favourite thai restaurant and we totally pigged out – it was perfect!
