What did you regret registering for?

I registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond really so that people who didn’t want to give monetary gifts would have options that we liked.  I registered for everyday china, silverware, towels, decorative items, beach backpack chairs (used these so much, no regrets lol), select kitchen items and a set of knives.  I didn’t think we’d go through many of those items because of our short guest list, but we got absolutely everything we registered for as my work threw me a shower that I wasn’t expecting.  I actually had to add items!  The best gift I didn’t register for was a beautiful china set from my husband’s aunt who knew I loved peacock items.  I took off the everyday china from the registry after receiving the peacock china at the shower.

I haven’t used the breadmaker (will now that it’s cold), ice bucket or other entertaining serving items yet, but everything else has been used.

I regret registering at all, to be honest. The only actual gifts we got was from the shower.. everything else given at/after the wedding has been cash, or gift cards.

I totally spend TONS of time on a registry that was never used!

*sigh* Our Soda Stream. DH really wanted it and took off with the registry gun while I was looking at glasses. It was not a cheap item, we’ve used it twice, and it tastes terrible.

I regret registering at Macy’s… Or at least my approach to it. I’d register for things seeing the sale price, which made items a reasonable deal. Then they’d go off sale and I felt like I looked greedy and crazy!  Example: we registered for luggage.  The biggest piece was like $250 when we registered for it. Pricey, but still a realistic amount someone would spend in our social circle. The next week it went to >$600!  For one piece of luggage!  I ended up checking the registry weekly and removing the items that went off sale, which ended up being all but a couple things. I wish I would have realized the extent of price variances before registering there.

I didn’t have any regret registering (at bed bath and beyond and crate and barrel), but I do regret asking for the giant roasting pan like the ones you cook a giant turkey in! Probably won’t have to use it for a few more years when we have an actual house so right now it’s taking up it’s own cabinet in the kitchen lol
