When I was twelve I think was transitioning from wanting to be a large animal vet (that was when I started working weekends at my barn and realizing the ridiculous hours, horses tend to colic outside of normal business hours) to being a lawyer.
The lawyer dream lasted another two years when horse trainer set in for two- three years (realized how crazy some horse owners are) before I settled in Anthropology and Museums. Still not sure what sort of museum, but I expect by the time I have my MA, I’ll just be greatful for any museum hiring a registrar.

I wanted to be a writer. I read books like they are going out of style. I even was an Editor in high school and college…but I let that go when I realized I’d have to move to a bigger city — not my style/comfort zone.

I’ve wanted to be a chemist since elementary school. I actually followed through with it and I’m now completing my PhD in chemistry. But I hate it! So I’m going to law school this fall for patent law 🙂
I also wanted to be a paleobotanist because I was obsessed with Jurassic Park and Dr. Ellie Sattler.

A figure skater, despite the fact that I lived in South Texas at the time and had never once put on ice skates.

LOL I wanted to be a mermaid too! Darn that Little Mermaid movie. 😀
Actually when I was little I told everyone I wanted to be an Economist! (That’s what my dad was and I wanted to be just like him.) Ironically I do actually do exactly what my dad did while he was working. (I did not get my economics degree to get there though!)

I wanted to be an author and Stay-At-Home Mom. I still wouldn’t mind being both! I definitely want to be a Stay-At-Home Mom still but I’d really like to do some freelance editing also.

Apollo 13 had just come out in the theaters and I so desperately wanted to be an astronaut after seeing that…
Or a Supreme Court Justice… haha, I aimed high.
Now I’m a Project Manager at a healthcare/disease management company. Slightly different!

I loved to write and wanted to be an author of a bestselling series. I quickly realized that wasn’t going to happen..because as much as I love to write, I’m not good enough at it to make a decent amount of money. I decided in My Jr. High school years and more concretly in my high school years that being a teacher and specializing in french immersion would be more practical. I graduated in May and landed a full time position in september!

I loved space, and wanted to be an astronaut. My elem school always had “career day” so I cut a hole in an icecream bucket and wore it on my head all day. (I really wanted to wrap myself in aluminum foil, but mom vetoed that one:)

A vet, until I was told I had to “practice” putting animals to sleep. Killed that dream instantly.
