Hi ladies! I think I’ve seen an old thread asking the same thing, but curious to see some newer pics if anyone wants to share. I’m struggling to figure out what kind of dress to wear to my courthouse wedding as I don’t want to wear an actual wedding dress.
I’ve purchased the following two dresses but am still looking, I’m shorter than the models so these aren’t as short on me. The first one I think I may wear to the reception which is at a bar, not sure if it’s courthouse appropriate (not sure I even know what that means):
Pics, opinions, etc are welcomed.

I didn’t have a courthouse wedding, but my friend and her husband did!! She wore something EXACTLY like your first dress, with white pumps and a really cute little headband with a white rose. It was adorable.
If you want shorter, maybe you could ask a seamstress to help you make one of these dresses shorter? The nice thing about these is that they can be reused 🙂

Good question! We are eloping this summer in the mountains and I’m looking for a cute but kind of casual white dress. I’m also gonna be like 6.5-7.5 months pregnant so….. :0
This was super super adorable but it’s not a maternity dress so it didn’t really work on me. It’s out of stock but maybe it’ll come back in? http://us.asos.com/asos/asos-ruffle-halter-mini-skater-dress/prd/9415325
This is super cute too but it’s long – but still not very formal. I decided i want to go with a shorter dress though, like you. https://www.lulus.com/products/ascension-island-white-embroidered-maxi-dress/464082.html
I’m still on the hunt too… finally ordered some actually maternity dresses, lol. Good luck with your search and i hope you post some pics of your elopement!

My dress was from Lulu’s! I had to get it altered twice. Once to shorten it, and again to stich the snap a little bit lower under my bust.

I like the bodycon dress. I wore a white floral short A line dress to our courthouse wedding 10 yrs ago. My husband wore his work clothes, kackis and a nice button up shirt.

You can wear whatever you want to a courthouse wedding, so if that’s what you like, don’t worry about it being “appropriate”. I was having a “real” wedding 2 days later (we wanted our Father-In-Law to marry us and he’s not ordained) so for us the courthouse was just a thing we had to do. I wore jeans and a tshirt I think. We were determined to not make it special as we didn’t consider it anything but paperwork (I know others feel differently, no need for anyone to get into that).
Out of the two you like, I’d definitely choose the first one, especially since you plan on wearing it later anyway. The second is too sheer, in my personal opinion. I’m not a fan of nude linings, which it probably has. Not as cute a pattern either.

same went to do paperwork. I wore a nice blouse and nice pants. My husband only went to city hall once and it was to one of the offices so he didn’t know that our city hall was really nice to take pictures and he wouldn’t believe me . So he wore tshirt and shorts. His sister who was our witness wore leggings and flipflops. We saw a couple in a full wedding dress and some who just dressed nicely.
