AbigailJAM :  haha thank you ❤️

queenbatgirl :  I’m also short, 5’2″, but with heels it looked great. I love jumpsuits in everyday life, and they surprisingly can make you look taller.

Not quite a courthouse wedding but a private ceremony followed by a small recpetion at a brewery (also a PNW bride). This is my reception dress.

Congrats! My significant other and I are eloping in a couple of weeks (we’re actually in Seattle as well!) and I plan on wearing a navy blue dress. We aren’t doing a ceremony at all, just getting the papers signed by the officiant/witnesses and then taking pictures with a photographer afterwards. A cermony just didn’t appeal to either of us—we just want to be married after 11+ years together. That said, a white dress wasn’t particularly important to me and honestly, I wanted a dress that I could wear again. So here’s what I’ve got lined up:

j9marie :  I’m thinking of getting married at the sf city hall. Is it difficult to get a reservation? How much in advance do we have to make the reservation? And on average how far away are the reserved dates from the day you make the reservation? Sorry to bombard you with questions, I just really want to get married there but don’t want to wait that long! 😂

diamondbeez :  I think we booked out our reservations around 2 months or less.  At that time the schedule was wide open but since we were traveling across country I wanted to make sure our date was reserved in advance.

You will need to make two reservations, one for your marriage license and one for the ceremony.  Both can be done in the same day if you would like, the appointment for your marriage license should be made at least 1 hour prior to your ceremony.

You will need at least one witness and I believe you can have up to 6.

Here are two resources I found most helpful in my planning:

My Fiance and I are going to the courthouse next month and technically eloping, however, we’re going to have a traditional ceremony in June. I still want to wear white even though we aren’t going to consider we are married until June  I found this pretty inexpensive one from Lulu’s that I just ordered  I figured I can dress it up or down easily.

My Fiance is military so that’s why we’re going to the courthouse a couple months before. Trying to get all of the paperwork done and housing established since I’ll be the one moving across the country.

Congrats. I ended up doing a garden elopement package and bought a $250 long lace sheath wedding dress but in hindsight id prolly get something even cheaper from Amazon! They have some Beautiful options both long and short with good reviews and pics from real customers. I’d especially go this route if I was having a courthouse wedding. You have nothing to loose as long as there is a return policy.
