brucebogtrotter :  just because you are triggered by this doesn’t mean that people are bragging. Please take responsibility for your feelings . Why did you come on the thread? The title makes the content of the posts abundantly clear. No one forced you to read it. Are you trying to shame people or play moral one up man ship?  I don’t need to explain The obvious value of information about prices in the general gem and jewelry market in the posts. One must separate money from emotions.

BEEelegant :  I could tell it was a 5-stone! It’s gorgeous! Wear it in good heath. 🙂

We are shooting for a 2.0 I VS, but the stone is taking longer to be cut than anticipated, so it will still be a few more weeks before it can be sent for grading. We could end up with a J or and G! So far, it’s 2.22, but they still have more facet-cutting to do and then polishing, so that will take it down at least to 2.15.

Also, I don’t understand the shaming going on by people claiming users of this thread are bragging. I knew it would happen, but I don’t get it. You are choosing to see someone’s post in a negative light instead of choosing to see that this thread’s entire purpose is to show what sort of ring you can get for what price and that the people participating are just answering the stated purpose of the thread.

If someone with a $1,000 ring can post an image with the specs and price, why can’t a person with a $40,000 ring do the same for information’s sake without being accused of bragging?

I get that we lose tone/body language/facial expressions/etc on the web, but now you are just showing your own negativity by filling the void with vitriol.

Also, for the people posting appraised values… those really mean next to nothing. A ring bought for $10,000 will inevitably be appraised at $15,000, $25,000 or even more depending on the appraiser and the purpose of the appraisal.
