I think if you are going to host everything at the one location $3000 isn’t a bad price. We had our rehersal dinner at  pizza place near the church (where the actual rehersal was held), we didn’t rent the place, just had our supper there and my Father-In-Law picked up the tab, so I’m not sure how much it was. We gave a $800 dontation to our church for our ceremony. That included the officiant, use of the space, and the choir. And our venue for our reception and gift opening was around $2500, which included corkage for 200 guests, three bartenders for the reception, and access to the location starting on Friday at 10 am and ending at 1 PM on Sunday.

My whole wedding was about 3000 haha but that was because it was very much a DIY weddin and we did only have 60-70 guests. We cared more about our ceremony and honeymoon. BUT on the other hand my sisters was close to 20000 and was beautiful but a little too much for me. So it depends on your preference. 3000 isn’t very much when it comes to a wedding.

My ceremony site is $1200. My reception site is $6000 minimum spend on food and wine, but we are only having 30 people, so it works out to $200 per head. If we don’t make the $6000 minimum for food/drinks, then we pay an additional $1000 for the room hire. They are both in the same location.

So all up it will be a minimum of $7200 for ceremony and reception for 30 people.

hjfleming2066:  wow, what a great deal! I haven’t had any luck finding a venue! I found a place meadow like with nothing at all what’soever, and they want to charge $20 per person and unfortunately I have 300 guests or so (mexican family non really rsvp so I won’t know the amount of ppl showing up) so the venue alone is at 6,000 and it’s just a piece of land with grass and trees!

My venue is 3400, that includes rehearsal, ceremony, reception room, colored linens, and cake and punch. We had to pay an additional $127 to hire a bartender to serve some champaign. I have found that planning a wedding WITHOUT catering is the most easy, stress free way to go! 🙂 It is going to be a fun reception full of dancing, champaign, and ofcourse our delicious cake. We are also having this later in the evening so it’s not at a meal time

My venue was $2750… and that was the price for booking almost 4 years ago. I’m sure it’s gone up since then. That gave us access for the rehearsal, and then 24 hours exclusive use for the wedding, reception, overnight accomodations for 10, and newlywed breakfast the following day. It also included the china, glassware, linens, tables, and chairs. All food and drink were, of course, seperate from the venue fee. We felt that it was very good value for the money.

We did our rehearsal on the beach, so it was free. Our venue charged $1,000 to have the ceremony, and no specific cost for the reception but there was a $15K food and drink minimum so it’s basically built in.

hjfleming2066:  I’m not sure – it depends on what kind of place you are using and what is included in the fee. Our Church is charging us $310 for use for the ceremony. Our reception venue has waived the rental fee and we are getting the entire place for just our wedding. My parents are hosting the rehearsal dinner at their place.

Our ceremony & reception venue has a $6,500 minimum, which we will exceed by probably $1,500. It includes all food and alcohol as well as bartenders and waitstaff, linens, uplighting, all tables and chairs, bridal salon, and suite for Fiance and I to stay in the night of the wedding. My FM&FIL are footing the bill for the rehearsal dinner, the minimum for the space is $1,800.

Here is our breakdown

Meeting room @ hotel for rehearsal + dinner: $350, bringing in a caterer.

Garden ceremony site @ reception hall: $500 + fee for our officiant.

Reception in Hall – includes brunch buffet, brunch cocktails, wine & beer, cake – 3 hours: $85 per person including tax and service fees.

I think that if you can get food brought in for a reasonable price $3,000 for a full weekend is very reasonable.
