i want to know what list of priorities other bees had/have for the wedding. Besides the venue what is a big chunk of your change going too? Fiance and I think the photographer and honeymoon should be the majority of where our money goes.. What about everyone else:)?

Definitely venue/food. Hands down. The next most expensive thing for us was photography but even that was only $2,000. Venue/food/decor was $11,000.

my dress costs less than the honeymoon but more than the food.

Venue/food/alcogol is taking up most of our budget, which is totally fine since we’re scaling back on other things. Food and overall experience for everyone is the most important for us. That’ll be at least half of our $20k budget, photography would probably be next at $1500-2000

Definitely the venue. $5,500 just for having my wedding and ceremony there, not inlcuding food, drinks, decorations, etc. But it is very pretty!

After the venue, which includes food and drinks (about $13k), the next most expensive thing is our photographer ($6k), but that’s also our one big splurge too.

Venue which includes food.

The absolute most expenssive for us is definitely the honeymoon.
After that, in order or most expenssive to least:

We kept our wedding as cheap as possible. Other the reception, which is the most… I’m spending the most on alterations. OMG, you don’t even want to know I’m shelling out.. but its ALOT.

Honeymoon 🙂 we are prioritising this, but venue and food are second 🙂 (£6000/$9500 on venue/food, £8000/$12,000 on honeymoon)

our biggest budget items it order of most to least expensive were:
(1) caterer which included rentals and booze
(2) 9 piece brass band of awesomeness that I would have paid triple for they were so good
(3) venue space rental

Do most of your venues include food and alcohol? Ours does but we’re spending 33k for 175ppl… Wish we could’ve done it cheaper:/

Reception food and drinks for sure! But then after that, the next biggest ticket item is the photography & videography. You can never change your mind and go back in time to get a video, or get more pictures, I want to make sure we capture the whole day and be able to look back over it in years to come (even be able to see the parts we might have missed).

LOL, I think our biggest was renting two 6-seater UTVs to get everyone to our ceremony site. We didn’t want people to risk their personal or rental cars by driving down into a rocky wash. A few took their cars anyway. Really our reception venue was slightly higher in the long run, but since we had to put down a huge deposit in case we destroyed the UTVs the price was temporarily higher. Everyone seemed to enjoy the odd trip though, especially the brothers we asked to be our “ushers.”
we had a pretty “cheap” wedding overall – self-catered, rented a house/lodge for the receptions, grocery store flowers mostly, dress under 100, no suits for the guys.
