- Wedding: October 2013
@MrsPanda99: I spent $315, but that included both the day of makeup & hair, and also trials for both.
I am expected to pay $195 for hair (trial included) + $195 for makeup (trial included; airbrush & lashes included).
My Maid/Matron of Honor is getting her hair & makeup (airbrush) for $85 each (originally $95, but she gave me a discount because the wedding is in January).
Living in NYC sucks. Haha.
@MrsPanda99: My hair trial and day of came to $115. My make-up was $60 because I just had to buy a product (did it at a Lancomb counter), but I also got a ton samples and things I normally use. For reference, here is a pic of what I got for what I paid.
@MrsPanda99: Well, since I did my own makeup it was free….and my hair was $45.
I paid £30 for a makeup trial and then £45 for airbrush on the day.
As well as £20 for hair trail and £50 on the day.
I also paid for my Mum and two bridesmaids on the day.
So for me trial of both cost £50 $80 and Makeup £150
Mine was dirt cheep as it was a start up makup artist and her just qualified friend doing the hair. They were ok, but not amazing.
The average package in my area starts at £150 for full bridal hair and makup on the day so $250 and then add in some sort of trial before that you will be taking at least $350 I would think.
My hair will be $70 plus a $50 travel fee per stylist (will probably need two stylists to get everyone done).
Doing my own makeup, I am a self proclaimed makeup whore so I had almost everything I needed. I bought a blush palette yesterday because it had the colour I wanted plus a highlighter for $49 (of course it was limited edition, so I had to get it now) plus a lip liner and lipstick which was $42 together. I have all the other products I will need.
Hair & Makeup: $120 (including lashes)
trial for both: $100 (optional)
I know, a steal. And it looked fabulous. At least I saved money somewhere!!
Hair – $110 not including extensions
Makeup – free. I’m a trained makeup artist so I’m doing it myself
ETA: small wedding, no bridal party and the wedding is in a tiny mountain town (read: expensive!!)
For myself – $0 My cousin is a damn genius with hair and makeup and she will be doing mine and herself. We are hiring someone to do the rest of the bridal party though and they are charging $80 for all Bridesmaid or Best Man makeup and another $200 for hair.
Hi @MrsPanda99: as you know we Eloped to a Destination Wedding… an area that is known for Weddings… so you would think the prices would be high, but I didn’t feel that way
I paid approx $ 200 for my hair, and that entailed 2 Appointments. One for the Colour & Trim. The second was a day later to put my hair up for the Ceremony.
Make Up Application day of at the same salon was under $ 100
Lol, I would have paid a lot more than that here at home in Ontario than I did in The Keys !!
Hope this helps,
$125 for make up. I’m doing my own hair but I have a ton of products, I just need a new hair dryer which will be about $30 from Ulta.
@MrsPanda99: $90 for airbrush makeup done on-site. $55+ tip for hair and veil placement done at the salon.
The way I got ripped off is that there was NO discount for the hair trial!
So far I’m doing my own hair and makeup (this may change)
I bought the makeup supplies already, and have been following a few videos on YouTube. I practice right before a shower (at home) or a special event.
I don’t really know if I can do my own hair… but I also don’t think I can justify the cost. My hair will fall out of whatever style NO MATTER WHAT so I might as well do it myself.
@MrsPanda99: $45 for hair trial, $75 for day-of hair. $45 for Makeup trial, $85 for day-of makeup. So in trials, I spent $90, and for day-of, I’m spending $160.
