1. 225 invited, 170-200 will probably make it

2. My dad’s farm in western Colorado

3. $10,000 – does not include rings (they weren’t included because my parents are paying and they’re something we wanted to buy ourselves), rehearsal dinner (in-laws will be taking care of that) or honeymoon (no idea what we’ll be doing at this point).  It’s looking like we’re pretty much going to hit it on the head so long as there aren’t too many unexpected last minute expenses.

1.55 guests

2. Hotel Waldorf Astoria in New York City

3. budget 15,000 more like $20000 including miscellaneous and things are adding up and including honymoon

all paid by myself, no debt, no help from parents-theyre not wealthy; he’s getting the rings and taking care of his family’s hotels, he will take care of the wedding in England; I’m saving tons by DIY projects, bargaining as hard as possible and asking personal favors; I want it to be special on the other hand I dont want to go wild and spend all my life savings, when it’s your own money you appreciate every cent you spend; no small feat in NYC, I still something left for house down payment and my sister’s down payment because I’m frugal

a bit depressing seeing how far your buck goes in other places, but aw, well, I chose to live in NYC, the price I have to pay, I dont regret it

1.) 70 Guests

2.) Western Colorado

3.) 15k (this is still an approximation, but I’m fairly certain we’ll be landing close to this number, which was about 2k over our original budget … I was picky about the photography :P)

Holy Monkeys. This is really interesting. Does anyone know if MissSauce is around still? I’d love to hear the updated readings, especially with the huge "dip" in the economy.

@Kara321 Looks like we’ll have a similar wedding! I am getting married in September 2 hours from Billings for around the same cost.

  1. 130 invited, 95 prob. coming
  2. Northern Wyoming
  3. $45-$50,000
  4. OUCH. Thanks all parents! All 3 sets of you!

It’s reassuring to see that some of you were able to pull off a wedding for only a few thousand. Some days I think I’m crazy for trying it.

1) 200ish (I have a huge family)

2) Toledo, OH

3) I’m not positive yet, but our budget for the wedding (including ceremony, dress, rings, reception, everything), honeymoon, AND our first month in our new place is somewhere between $4500 and $5000 (I work full-time in ministry and my fiance is an assistant manager at a gas station, and we only have six months to plan and save, so we’re trying to make it simple)

We’re getting married outdoors at a metropark (only $50 for the location!) in the evening and just having cake and desserts at the reception. I’ve been bargain hunting for a dress (mostly online so far) and my bridesmaids are getting their own dresses. We’re not sure about the reception location yet; possibly outdoors at the park, too (though that’s risky because of weather) or a local church gym. A friend is doing our photos and some more friends are doing music. I think another friend might be doing flowers for us, too, and we’re hoping to find another friend to make the cake (it helps to know a lot of generous and talented people :-D)

2. Hard Rock Hotel, San Diego

3. $80k not including rings or honeymoon.  I NEVER thought we’d spend this much, but it goes so fast! I dont know how you girls do it.  I feel so limited as it is.

  • Wedding: November 2009

1.  170 guests (most likely 100-120 will attend)

2. Amway Grand Plaza Hotel (Imperial Ballroom), Grand Rapids, MI

3. $20-30K not including honeymoon and rings.  95% being paid by my Fiance and I.

We live in Chicago and the prices were double for almost everything. Also sales tax in Chicago is 10.25% (highest in the nation) compared to 6% in Michigan.  Therefore, we decided to have a "destination" wedding in my college town.

1. About 100 guests

2. Downtown Nashville, TN

3. $25,000

Our venue is the most expensive at $5,600. I thought it’d be around $3,000, but since it was built in the 1920’s, we need a master electrician, technical director, state door guard, and firewatch… which adds up fast!

  • Wedding: June 2010 - The Mountain Terrace, Woodside, CA

My mom is an accountant, so she’s taught me to be a master budgeter.  So far we’re looking at:

1.  125 to be invited, hoping 95-100 will attend

2.  Woodside, CA (SF Bay Area)

3.  $25,000, not including honeymoon (another $7,000 for that)

His parents are contributing $7,000, but still not sure how much my parents will end up contributing.  They did pay for the deposit on the venue, but my sister is convinced my Mom is purposely not telling us how much they’ll contribute, so she can make sure to stay involved in the planning (I’m a type-A, and she’s even worse, boarderline control freak!).  We’ll make up the rest of the cost ourselves.  Luckily we have lots of time still to save!
