1) Number of guests? ~200

2) What is your location?  Boston, MA – Old South Church (ceremony) & Fairmont Copley Hotel (reception)

3) What was the final cost of your wedding? ~ $90k excluding rings & honeymoon

This one really got away from us… Our original "budget" was $55k but that went under very quickly. Luckily our parents are paying for almost everything.

1. # of people: 250-300 guests

2. Venues: Small town, ND. Family’s church for the ceremony ($15) and local community center for the reception ($250).

 3. Total budget: ~5000, not including rings or honeymoon.

We’re fortunate enough to have several friends with talents that will help us a out a lot: photography, decorator, and catering are free, yay! We also have really big families that insist on being involved, so they are helping out tons. Add to that simple taste, lots of diy, and viole, beautiful inexpensive wedding!

Our cost will actually probably be about $1000, because our parents are helping out a lot too.

2) Milwaukee, WI

3) $67,000

Includes rings, rehearsal dinner, tips, welcome bags, bridal party gifts, honeymoon … you name it!  We live pretty far away from our wedding city, so that figure also includes ALL the flights I’ve had to take home for wedding planning, bridal showers, bachelorette party, etc.  Here’s to hoping the number doesn’t rise any more within the last month!

This isn’t the actual cost of our wedding because we haven’t had it yet, but I’ve been scrounging up estimates and I’m pretty much confident that if we try hard, we can actually bring our cost in at just under $4000. (Not including engagement ring or honeymoon; but definitely aiming for under $10 000 including those.) The only thing we’re worried about is the economy jumping back up and prices inflating kablooey (in which case we’re worried about mainly the venue rental and food prices).

1) Just under 80 people, including the wedding party and my fiance and I.

2) Edmonton, AB (Canada)

3) $4000-$6000 (includes rehearsal dinner, etc.; does not include engagement ring & honeymoon)

1. 75 people

2. Denver area, Colorado

 3. Um, yea, about 2k. Parents are pieces of sh*t (yes i just said that!) and are not contributing, but then again now we don’t have to buy them gifts! I’m currently looking for a job to pay for it. We’ve got 2 kids, so somehow I have to work around that, with no college degree. Hoping it will work, otherwise, it will get cancelled. I wish daycare was cheaper so I could actually get a job! Currently selling our belongings to buy gas, so not sure how it will all work out, WOOHOO! lol. Life’s a b*tch like that, but we’ll figure it out.

3. ~$20,000. I don’t have the exact receipts for everything, but when in doubt I rounded up. This included food and 5 hours open bar, DJ, photog, apparel, gifts for bridal party, hair/make up, etc.  Did not include rings, honeymoon, rehearsal dinner.

1. 50 people

2. Kelowna, BC, Canada

3. ~$10,000 (not including e-ring or honeymoon)

MOB bought dress (~$700) and kicking in $3000 otherwise. Groom’s parents hosting rehearsal dinner. We’re covering the rest. Traditional Catholic ceremony at my church. Afternoon reception at a lovely old heritage house that has been converted to a restaurant, and that offers awesome wedding packages that pretty much include everything (food, flowers, cake, decorations, wait staff) and a reasonable price on wine service. Perfect for the slacker bride. 🙂

Paying for it all by my lonesome.  FH is up to his eyeballs in school loans. Calling in every favor owed to me and using every contact in my address book!  🙂

Does not include rehersal dinner (MOG paying) and mini-moon (MOB paying).

Does include rings (oh how I love family heirlooms that find their way to ME!).
