I know this has been a topic of conversation in the past, but styles change and different sets retire, so…
What dinnerware did you register for and where??
Fiance and I are trying to decide where and what to register for, but we would love to see/hear from all of you! Please post pictures and the store! Thank you!!

Are you looking for something formal, or everyday? I already have PLENTY of daily dishes that look really nice, I didn’t need an upgrade there… but I did register for Opal Innocence China (which is so elegant!), it’s been around for a very long time and we can add to it for a long time to come– and a friend bought me an entire set of Noritake Crestwood in Platinum for non-formal dinners with friends. o_o;; They both look great!

We registered for the cheapest Noritake set!

We chose Sophie Conran for Portmeirion® White Dinnerware. It’s formal enough that I would be okay using it for company but casual enough for our everyday needs.

We chose a square white place setting from Macy’s The Cellar. My fiance wouldn’t do anything with a lot of color. When I originally wanted the Noritake, he wanted to get black. I got the square because it allowed me to get something unique, even though it was plain white. Also, they always have this line so if something breaks there isn’t an issue. In addition to the ones Macy’s offers, I can get serving platters from anywhere, since it’s just plain white.
I actually just got them all in the mail and was able to put them all into the cabinet and get rid of the old ones!

Anthropologie Old Havana set:
We are not registering for china because I know between our mothers there are four sets of china waiting for homes sometime in the future!

@red_pepper_gal: We registered for this too! I fell in love with it when we were walking through Macy’s one day and I had to yell at Fiance to get the scanner

Kate Spade – Fair Harbour in Cream and Bittersweet (we’re doing both colours).
We’re getting the Royal Doulton Clarendon set that my parents got at their wedding whenever we have a house to put it in

@red_pepper_gal: We chose the same, except in Celadon. I really love it, it has just the right balance between formal and casual. Plus I adore the colour of ours.

@red_pepper_gal: I know a few people who picked this – it’s gorgeous, we almost chose it too.

We registered for causual diningware at Target. Fiance and I could agree on what was an “acceptable” price for formal china as he did not feel it was appropriate to ask anyone to spend $150 for one serving. Since we live in an apartment right now and have no room for nice dinners I agreed, but I talked to mom and she has china that was my grandmothers that she will give us when we buy our house. It is very pretty, simple, and elegant which works out good for our tastes.

@MrsTVLover: I registered for Fiesta too, it’s so nice. I didn’t want anything super fancy (thought my mom tried to make me register for something fancy), and this fit the bill. Love it.
