Haha well, thanks to this site, I’m working on my origami flower escort cards πŸ˜€ Let the hot gluing commence!

Oh, and some flower covered letters for the head table. But that’s kind of in limbo right now, since I bought wooden letters with a serif font, and I’m decidedly anti-serif. I’m an odd duck.

This weekend I am working on my shoes. I have 875 crystals on 2500 to go!

I am currently tea dying my feather hair fascinator to make it more ivory/off-white. I’m wrapping up the birdhouses today and then getting started on my invitations, which have to be done and out in two weeks!  πŸ™‚

I just made the holders for our table cards and am pleased with how they turned out! I posted a DIY for this in that section, too.

My big project for the weekend is tissue paper poms for the aisle of our ceremony. We’ll need 10 poms total x 20 flowers per pom = 200 flowers to fold!! It is taking foooorever but I’ve been powering through. I did complete one whole pom so I’d have a finished product to oo and ah over and keep me motivated. I LOVE how it turned out!!

Those poms look beautiful!

So, feathers?  Not easy to tea dye.  I think I might write a post about this in more detail, but feathers def do not have the exact same shape when they are done – you’re supposed to use a hair dryer to get them fluffy again and it was not fool proof. I still love the way it turned out, but had a little panic moment there!

@Ms_Charisma: Hurray!!! I’m glad to help. πŸ™‚

The greatest thing is that it wasn’t too expensive (around $10) to make 16 binder clips, and I have paper and tons of spray glue left over to do other DIY projects. My original idea was to spray paint them white before applying the paper, but I decided that was too much DIY-craziness. I think I would’ve liked mine even more if I had done that, or found white clips to begin with, but it’s fine this way too.

@Ms_Charisma: oh man let me tell you— 20 hours will not be enough haha. So far I have put in about 10-12 hours myself + 5 hours help from friends and I have 150 flowers folded (but not yet fluffed or glued to poms. Only did 1 pom to completion). I estimate this project will take 30-35 hours total for 10 poms. Also… I have a big paper cutter (not the scrap booking kind… but a big kind for cutting like 10 sheets at a time I borrowed from work) that probably saved me hours. Also when you trim the petals it is VERY messy. thousands of tiny little paper triangles you will never get out of your car! So… while I think they are adorable and totally worth it…. I would not wait until the car trip! πŸ™‚

Well, I got the flower dyed and the invites designed.  I’d say I did well this weekend! Time to make a big list of things to do though!

@SarahSmiles: I think i just googled tissue paper poms and found some instructions online, although i couldn’t find any step-by-step instructions with pictures and i found the directions kind of confusing. I just used trial and error to get them to come out right. I did take pics of my whole process though and was planning to post a tutorial on my blog some time this week… so if you check it in a few days (www.fifteenminuteplan.wordpress.com) you’ll have a step-by-step with pics. It isn’t hard at all. just time consuming! πŸ™‚
