So I am trying to figure out what I want to do for the bar situation. Currently we are looking at two places, one is 1300 dollars and you get six hours of service, two bartenders, a really cute vintage caravan that they serve out of and you get to bring your own alcohol in. They non-alcoholic beverages (lemonade, coffee, iced tea, water, etc), cups. Since we are buying the alcohol we would get to take the leftovers home with us.
The other place is 1800 but it’s a flat rate, we would have signature drinks for the cocktail hour and then wine and beer for the rest of the evening (as well as during the cocktail hour). They also bring a bar and have servers, and the guy that I spoke with over the phone was really nice and sounded easy to work with. He also said that since it’s a flat rate he keeps all the alcohol from each event and if there’s something leftover from a previous weekend he throws it in for free for the next event.
I’m struggling because I like that we could buy our own alcohol, we plan on having around or a little under 100 guests and there are a fair amount that don’t drink (although those that do, aka our friends and my family, will probably make up for them lol) and we have a family friend that works for a distributing company that could potentially get us some deals. So if we could get enough alcohol for under 500 dollars then it makes sense to choose the first option. However, if it’s more than that, we end up spending more money than the second place and have to go through the hassle of buying everything. What do you guys think? For the bees that brought in their own alcohol, how much was the cost of that alone?
