My FH’s family got me wedding stuff for Xmas. Bubbles, a garder, a just married sign, and a ring pillow. They assumed our wedding would be next April, as we told them. It is not. We are having a surprise wedding in a park on March 31st 2012!
This means we will not be doing traditional bridesmaids, grromsmen, etc.
I can use the other items, but I have no idea what to do with the Pillow.
His family are the kind of people who would notice we didn’t use it and take offense, instead of seeing the obvious reason it was left out.
So here is where you come in, how can I re-purpose, reuse, or just incorporate this thing?
Oh and did I mention it is from the Dollar Tree?
Don’t get me wrong, most of my wedding will be DIY Dollar Store crafts I love that place!
But this pillow is scary…

Is your dad walking you down the aisle? If he is, you can recover it in a fabric that would coordinate with your wedding and your dad could carry it in the other arm than what you are on and he could present the rings to your FH. Or you could ask his parents to carry it in.

If you have a flower girl you could always make it into a cute bag some how?
Alternatively I would rip the details off and DIY it into something beautiful and use it for it’s orginal purpose as ring pillow.
You could put some ribbon around it – in a colour from your wedding pallatte
Cover it in lace or tulle
And if you did something like this you wouldn’t hardly see the pillow underneath!
Hope this gives you some ideas

you don’t have to use it for the wedding. why not keep it for your future children? I’m assuming that since you’re getting married, you’re planning to have kids (though i may be wrong, sorry if i am)….so you could keep the silk pillow and embroider it for the future baby’s cot or something 🙂 i’m sure you’d keep your relatives happy that way.

How can I make this ugly pillow into something usable?
