What do you think about a gift & the check? That way you’re able to spend more, but they don’t really know how much more (unless it was on the registry, then…)

I voted for the $200 because it’s double what you normally spend.  Even if you give cash, the item they eventually purchase may benefit his Fiance more.  But ultimately it will benefit them both!

I would probably buy them the Kitchenaid gift.  Although she’s going to get more use out of it than him, I’m sure he’ll view it as a gift for them.  My husband was very excited about the Kitchenaid blender that a family member bought for us, even though he has no interest in using it.  I use it, to make us smoothies, so he’s a fan!

I’d go with the dishes. They’ll both use them and it saves you the stress and headache over what money to give them.

@CorgiTales: I think that would be nice. You’re not blowing a huge amount on them, but they also get a little something extra. Perfect balance! 🙂

I like the idea of the dishes and maybe make a note to go with the cash.  Maybe encourage them to buy something special on their honeymoon.  Yep, family politics are a pain.  We should all be only children.  I’m from a family of six, so I know how you feel! Smile

I vote buy them something and give them money.  Getting them all of their dishes might be a nice touch after all.  It is nice to not have to worry about not getting your dishes covered.  Or if their is something else that you know they would like/need that they didn’t register for then go for that.
