Ivebeen invite to a wedding in January, ceremony is at a church followed by lunch at The Mandarin ( Chinese buffet restaurant). I have NO idea what to wear!!! I don’t want to be overdressed, but also don’t want to be underdressed. Any suggestions???

I would say, wear a nice winter-colored dress (blue, darker red, grey) but avoid shiny, dressy materials. Go for something like jersey knit instead. Dress it up with pantyhose and boots and maybe a nice cardigan or scarf. The layers are good because the scarf/cardigan makes it more casual. But if you feel underdressed, all you have to do is take them off!

@Carlyb246: What part of this makes you unsure of what to wear? The winter wedding part, the buffet part or something else?
Just wondering, my wedding is in January and I wonder if people are struggling with what to wear…

@mchitt329: im struggling with the “lunch at the Mandarin” part… Because it it not a dinner, or a fancy restaurant. The winter part is easy enough…. Just the casualness of it all is throwing me off
