I can’t stand when people confuse “breath” and “breathe”. It’s like confusing “foot” and “walk”.

“I ran so hard I couldn’t breath anymore!” = “I ran so hard I couldn’t foot any farther!”

Same goes for “then” and “than”.

I also hate “hubby”, “man cave”, “pot, meet kettle”, “epic”, “fail”, “epic fail”…the list could go on forever.

Oh, I can’t stand so many of these!  Preggo? Ick.  Hubby/Hubs?  Ick.

What drives me crazy now is one I hear a lot, but don’t see in writing much.  It’s when you say something to someone and that person wants to indicate agreement with you and says, “I know, right?”  I can’t tell you how old that’s become!

I hate when people get annoyed that I don’t understand their dated reference… then get so upset that I’m young.  I”m sorry I was born in 84 and you’re all old.  I can’t help it!!!!  NO I’m NOT pretending to not know who that rocker is just to make you feel bad!

I am super guilty of the excessive overuse of exclamation marks. In fact, it’s one of the main things I edit posts for.. that & commas. I like them WAY too much. What? I’m a teacher: grammar apparently excites me! 😀

I work around people all day and it absolutely grates on every nerve that I have to hear people talk about high profile smart women and use the words “whore” or “stupid”.  It just makes me want to reach out and smack someone.

i drives me nuts when people don’t know the difference between your/you’re,  there/their/they’re, breath/breathe, to/too/two.

I hate when people use “rape” to describe how they beat something or did something well. It’s so disrespectful & it makes me cringe.

1. People using the word “ignorant” when they are trying to say someone is rude. Get a dictionary. That is not what ignorant means.

2. “Amen” or “the church says Amen.” IMO those words should be used during prayer or in a church. Just say I agree.

Oh, my, yes. For me, that’s on a whole different plane than simple “annoyance.”  I find it really disturbing.  A dear friend of mine was raped this year, and she talked afterward about hearing college kids (we work on a university campus) making rape jokes and using it with wild abandon.  It made her want to cry and scream and throw up.

@Mrs. Menard to Be : I totally agree. I was raped and I don’t think it’s all that funny.

I don’t like it when people abbreviate almost everything in their posts. Mostly because I don’t know what the heck their talking about. FI? FMIL? SIL? E-ring? Haha, ok I know what those mean, but I have to read them very carefully to understand what the heck you are talking about.

I transcribe audio interviews as part of my job.. holy crap I have a lot of pet peeves.

How someone can say “so” “like” and “you know” 200 times in 6 minutes is beyond me.

I really hate when someone says “good” when it’s supposed to be “well.”

I hate this’…..’. When the person who typed it, did not need it (if that made sense…). See that? It worked perfectly where I put it! 🙂
