I’d ask.  Worse that can happen is they say you’re still paying full price.

I’d definitely ask!

Just a casual “I was looking at the dress online and noticed that the price has decreased significantly.  Are you able to honour the current pricing?”

The worst they can do is say no!

Definitely ask, even if they won’t drop it $100, maybe they’ll give you $25.  Anything is better than nothing!

I asked and got a yes, I got the whole “well, we normally don’t like to do that….blahblahblah”  but I got it.  They can do it, but I think that it is the manager that needs to do it.

ASK. 🙂 Friend ended up getting her wedding dress like $250 cheaper because of the same situation. Weddings are a people business and usually in cases like this they may go with the “well normally…” but they’ll probably do it. Just make sure you ask for a manager. Good luck!

Ask! Always negotiate. The worse case is they say no which is your current situation anyway!

I’d ask. Stores give price adjustments all the time (if you look at the back of any receipt, a lot of them will have a clause about a “one-time price adjustment” if the price goes lower.) If you’re paying for the dress today, there’s no reason you should pay a different price than someone who walked in off the street who picked the dress and paid for it today as well. If it was me, I’d emphasize the fact that you guys had to put it on layaway in the first place to be able to purchase it, so the extra $100 would go a long way toward helping the tight financial situation.

Then again, I don’t give a tinker’s damn about appearing cheap. At the very least they should throw in a free veil or some shoes as a gesture of goodwill.
