Stuff to get you through a few days:

Toilet Paper, towels, wash cloths, plates (paper will do), paper towels (can be used for napkins if you forget them), GARBAGE BAGS!!!, tool box (to put your furniture back together, or take the door off the hindge if necessary), soap, detergent, tooth brush, tooth paste, sheets, clothes, shower stuff, light blubs

I would definitely bring cleaning supplies as your first box into the house… if it’s not cleaned to your standards you don’t want to put anything away until it’s tidy. Get Lysol, Windex, Febreze, if you have a shark steamer BRING IT!, scrubber brush, tub and toilet cleaner, vacuum, broom and dust pan

FOOD!!!! (or local takeout menus)

If i think of anything else i’ll follow up.

Good luck!!

Sorry to bring the bad news but you will most likely need to go to the store at some point that day or the next and buy some stuff.

The day we closed we only moved in our bed, a change of clothes, some shower stuff, and every cleaning prduct ever made. I would suggest cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, detergent, and utensils. We ordered out that  night, brought the food home, and realized we didnt have forks. Ohhh memories 🙂

A SNOW SHOVEL! SO and I didn’t have one and of course we had record breaking snow that year…. couldn’t find a shovel anywhere to save our lives. And it’s really hard to shovel out your car to go to work without a shovel!

Clean towels are on my list of must haves…one’s I know where I can find them, not packed. 🙂 Plus, oodles of cleaning supplies…we are supposed to close on May 5th or sooner and I think we’ve decided to hire cleaners to do the house and have the rugs professionally done just so it was one less thing “to do”.

Additionally for us it is the refrigerator and laundry machines…how exciting, right? Fortunately my folks are literally a block and a half a way and I rent from them now…so we may be doing laundry there for a while.

Good luck…

When I first moved out of my parents home to live with my fiance I realized he had nothing that my parents had. All the little things, like aluminum foil, plastic wrap, tupperware…I made him go with me to look for new furniture because his was from a dead friend of his grandpa’s and it wasn’t clean…nor was there anything I could do to it to make it clean.

I even bought him a bed about 9 months before I moved in because all he had was a mattress on the floor.

Other little things: garbage bags, fans, I’ll post again if I think of anything else.

A shower curtain!!! It’s something we forgot when we moved, and all I wanted to do was take a long hot shower..but didn’t want the floor to get all wet, so I took a 2 min. shower to freshen up.
