Just wondering what people do after work to relax (or not relax) in the evening if they have time with the SO.
For us we usually exercize together – bike, run, or swim
then make and eat dinner together
and then any number of things from walking the dogs, to more work, to just having some homebrew or sometimes unfortunately cleaning a lot.
How about you guys?

Fiance doesn’t get off work until 6.00 and we carpool in together so usually by the time we get home it’s near 7.00.
We make dinner, clean, play with the dog & kitties and go out for a walk. In the Summer we haul ass to our dock and just lie in the sun until it gets dark out. We also enjoy just snuggling and watching ye ol’ idiot box.

Totally drink cocktails. Actually sometimes we’re good and excersize, but we usually work so late during the week by the time we get home all we want to do is make a martini 🙂

We’re not married yet but we moved in together in January and this actually been a little of a challenge for us because we don’t have that many shared interests or shows. Some nights we hang out “together” but do our own thing (him = watch sports or play video games, me = surf internet/wedding craftiness). At least a few times/week then we try to do stuff together. Usually that is either playing mario (the one video game I like), watching a movie, or watching some tv box set. Then of course we have date nights and we do movies, dinner, put put, batting cages, picnics, comedy clubs, game nights, etc etc.

Honestly? Not much, lol. Usually Fiance doesn’t get home til 730, so we eat dinner and then relax on the couch, watching tv or a movie, and we’re usually in bed by 11, latest (so lame, I know). Sometimes we’ll have some wine, and he really likes scotch so he’ll pour himself a glass several times a week. Not too exciting! But we do go out to dinner about twice a week, so at least that gets us out of the hous.e

it’s really hard for us to have time together during the week because i have class 4 nights a week and don’t get home until 930pm 🙁
so we’ve made thursdays (my free night from class) our date night. last night we went to red lobster and i finally got to see satc2!
it was the first time we’d eaten out since… last summer?
we made a list last week of things we can do together to unwind:
-Run/walk around the neighborhood with the dogs
-BBQ with friends
-Shopping for wedding gifts at Partridge (our local outdoor mall)
-Piano lessons (we just moved my old piano into our house)
-Hottubbing with yummy frozen drinks (we r lucky to have this in our backyard)
-Going out to eat at diff places, but only spending $25 for both of us.
-Be in bed by 9pm nights
-Clean the house nights
-Painting, I want to start doing art again, like David Bromstad. 😉
-Stargazing! And eating outside in the backyard!!

We have a pretty busy schedule, but on the one or two nights a week we get to spend at home alone, we love to cook a good dinner, sit out on the porch and eat if it’s nice, have a beer or glass of wine, then watch an episode of whatever show we’re following at the moment on Netflix. An evening walk around the neighborhood is wonderful, too. It’s pretty lazy, but exactly what we need in the middle of a busy week. 🙂 We also love having friends over and cooking dinner/hanging out and enjoying each other’s company.

@hilsy85: I think we have a pretty similar routine!
I get home earlier and I really enjoy cooking so I’ll make dinner. By the time Fiance comes home it’s 730 and we relax and enjoy dinner together. After that some TV and/or reading, and off to bed! Not to exciting but we try to make up for it on the weekends,

I get home an hour before him usually. In that hour I usually do the dishes, and if I’m feeling good I’ll go for a walk/jog. I get dinner started if he’s going to be later than usual.
We watch TV while eating dinner, maybe an extra show or Wii bowling, spend a half hour on the computer updating wedding/finance stuff. Sometimes we read. We’re getting ready for bed around 9pm and asleep by 9:45 usually.

We get home early, which is nice, usually around 4:30. One of us or both of us exercises if we are having leftovers or if we are cooking then we prep for that instead of exercising. We eat early (because it has helped us with weight control) usually around 5:30 or 6. Since the wedding we have mostly been working in the evenings to tie up loose ends like thank you cards and trying to get the apartment cleaned up and organized and things boxed up to sell. But we are looking forward to when that is done and we can watch movies in the evening, play Wii, and go on walks!

I get home about an hour before Darling Husband does, and I use that time to do little running chores – dishes if there are any, switching the laundry, walking the dog, etc. I also use this time to make phone calls that I don’t want to be distracted from, like if I call my mom or to pay bills or whatever.
After he gets home we like to sit down and just have a little one-on-one time. We talk about our day, what we’d like to do this weekend, where our finances are (I am the CFO, but I think it’s important that he knows how I’m handling our money), and other random little things. We generally make dinner, and then watch a movie or whatever we got from Netflix. Some nights he’ll play video games while I read or work on a project. Some nights we go hang out with friends, or have friends over. If I have class, then he entertains himself. 🙂
We don’t really ever do anything too exciting, but I kind of like it that way. I feel like my drama-filled fast-paced days are behind me, and I really enjoy the slower pace of life I have now.

@Miss Holly: That makes me feel a little less lame 🙂 We also try to make up for it on the weekends and are usually out of the apt doing stuff Sat and Sun, going to the park, museums, shows, out with friends, etc. During the week is just soo hard because we’re both so tired from various stressors/waking up early, etc.

I usually get home before 6pm and the Fiance comes after 7pm. We have dinner together, walk the dog, we watch the telly and go to bed. Nothing really exciting on the weekdays. Sounds kinda boring *lol*

I so wish we got home early. We both get home around 6:30, so dinner isn’t ready till at least 7, if not 7:30. By the time we clean up it’s usually 8 and it’s collapse on the couch time.

I get home an hour before him and make dinner. We eat dinner and watch tv…so exciting! But we are too whipped to do other things during the week. Weekends we go out!
