@AshleyR83:  haha only like 15 little flakes…not nearly enough to weigh out and sell (though i probably wouldn’t sell it anyway) but its a relitively new hobby, like we got our gold pans 3 weeks ago. We actually took next friday off to go up to a gold mine here and pan in their creek.

@totheislnds:  I love it!  I wish I lived somewhere where I could go panning for gold! Do you have special gold panning outfits?? I envision overalls and a large brimmed brown hat. 🙂

we go fishing together, even though neither of us is very good at it lol. Going out to eat is fun, because we like trying new things.

We’re super homebodies, though, so even if it sounds boring, we’re happiest playing video games and watching movies/tv.

We only get to spend one day a week together thanks to our work schedules, but we spend it on our road bikes, eating brunch, watching Family Guy, doing yard work and going to Menards.

I dont think these count as hobbies, but whatever.

Although we don’t own a dog because we currently live in an apartment, we take walks at the nearby dog park so we can visit with all the pooches.  We both love dogs, alot!

Also, we love to play boardgames.  Well, actually the game we play the most is called Dominion.  It’s a deck building game and you are playing against eachother.  We love it and have gotten my sister and her husband into it too now.

We take lots of walks together and explore new neighbourhoods. On Sundays we like to go for brunch at some places in our neighbourhood, grab lattes at another local place, then take them with us as we walk through the nearby ravine.

I’m someone who really likes experiencing new things, so I’m usually (unfortunately) the one who brings up new plan ideas (DH is more of a homebody/routine guy) – but he’s open to what I’d like to do since he knows it makes me happy.

Some things I’d like to do this Summer:

– Go canoing – there are lessons offered at the Harbourfront

– See a play

– Go to a comedy show

– See a few movies that look good

– Try out some new restaurants

– Go to the beach

– Take public transit to a stop we’re unfamiliar with and get out to explore what’s there. (This can be for a bunch of stops)

– Maybe take a “Tourist” tour of our city to see it from a Tourist’s eyes – maybe we’ll learn something!

– Check out various little museums that we haven’t been to since we were kids on field trips

– Maybe take a baking or cooking class together

– Write a few songs together

– Take a bus (we don’t have a car) to a vinyard and learn about making wine (and the differences between wines)

– In the Winter: Go tobogganing & snowman-making. Go skating. Visit a place where they make maple syrup.

– In the Fall, visit an orchard and go on a hay ride, drink apple cider, pick apples, make apple pie at home, make pumpkin pie

I just e-mailed that list to him – thanks for getting it out of me, haha!

Whatever gets us out and *experiencing*.

Hope some of that was helpful/got ideas flowing for you!

He likes to go roller skating (that was our first date, actually), & I’ve found its almost as much fun as an adult as it was as a kid, even if I do look like a drunk monkey. We go to the dog park, take the dogs for a hike, hit the flea market. We’re also looking into memberships at the local Y so we can go swimming. Right now though our big “together time” activity is playing this silly bubble shooter game on our phones. Hes competitive & I refuse to let him beat me.

We share a love of our cats and arabic food 🙂 And we try to take part in each other’s hobbies now and then.. He actually found that he likes painting after taking a class with me!
