I went to try on dresses for the first time the other day at DB and I am not very trditional bride so I didn’t think I would find anything I liked. I stayed away from ball gowns because I am only 5′ and tried on more form fitting dresses, but to my surprise the form fitting dresses looked horrible on me. I am not sure if it was the fact that the bra they gave me underneath was too long for my torso and scrunched up not letting the dresses lie flat or if the material was just too thick or something. Then I tried on this dress which is considered a bal gown and I loved the material and it has pockets and it seems like it would be good for a beach destination wedding.
Here it is on the model: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Lace-Ball-Gown-with-Intricate-Embroidered-Details-WG3512_Bridal-Gowns-Shop-By-Designer-Galina
So what do you bees think? Please be honest!

I am 5 feet zip too. To me that is not a ballgown, and my personal preference is not for too much poof, so if you are keeping it like it looks now more A-line than poof I really like it and think it fits the beach location perfectly.

I think it’s beautiful! If anything, I would maybe modify the neckline (if it’s easy for the seamstress) into more of a sweetheart, but that’s because I love sweetheart necklines.
You look gorgeous!

I’m not a fan of D.B., but I really love that dress. Very romantic! Looks great on you!

I’m not a fan of the pattern. But the style looks great on you.

I like the pattern of the lace- it keeps it from being the same as other dresses in that shape. Add a belt and a sweetheart neckline and it would look great.

I really like that dress on you!

I love it! It is so pretty and flowy, and I think the unique leaf lace is awesome. You definitely look taller than 5′ in it, too 🙂

I think it’s gorgeous! I would maybe consider making it a sweetheart neckline, but besides that it’s PERFECT! It’s definitely more an a-line (as long as you don’t add a huge crini), and that lace just screams beach. I give it a 10/10!
Also, I think you look way taller than 5′ 🙂

Thank you everybody! I never thought about trying to change the neckline. I will have to try on a dress with a sweatheart neckline to see how it looks! I think I was wearing 2 – 3″ heels in that picture. My FH is 6’1″, so I look tiny next to him, but I really loved that you all think I look taller!!!
I definitely will not add crini, I was just going off the ‘ball gown’ description on the web site.

You look beautiful and have a great petite shape, but for some reason I really don’t care much for this dress. I think you could do better.
I do like the idea of altering the neckline, but I think maybe the hip area needs something. It seems like too much fabric or like it’s too bunchy or something.
For a beach maybe something chiffon with lots of flow – maybe a sheath sillhouette?
No matter what you pick you’ll look gorgeous though!!!
