This year I will be purchasing a large lemon meringue pie (Mom’s favorite) from an award winning shop near where I live.  My Mom lives about 2 hours away so I will transport it to her. She is currently preparing her house to go on the market so she is busy trying to downsize so I didn’t want to add any clutter to her home.

As for necklaces there are so, so many companies out there that sell jewelry you can layer.  I personally love PoshMark because you can find really nice items at a bargain.  Anthropologie has some nice things as well.

Honestly, anything that my mom wants she already has. It’s so tough to buy for her so I usually get her nice flowers. This year I’m going to buy a newborn kit for refugees in honor of my mother. She loves donating so I know she will love it.

I tend to treat Mothers Day the same as birthdays and Christmas and I keep my ears open when she talks about wanting/liking/replacing things throughout the year.

We’ve gotten her iphones, ipads, phone cases, earrings, cosmetics, skincare items.  My mom also loves designer stuff so we’ve gifted her Chanel/LV/Gucci/Dior bags, wallets, sunglasses, shoes, scarves etc…

I heard her talking about wanting some sort of peplum coat for spring recently so I guess that’s what I’ll be looking for.

I don’t have a bio mom anymore, but I have moms in my life!

My stepmom loves cooking and I love her but she never quite learned how to girl so I buy her cute kitchen stuff and occasionally a convenience beauty product like a Wet Brush set or a sea salt spray.

Usually, I buy my MIL’s favorite fancy tea, her favorite Chardonnay, or Belgian chocolate truffles. I used to buy her flowers but her boyfriend goes to the fancy florist for the $100+ bouquets instead of Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s like me so I can’t impress her with those anymore haha!

I’m a mom and all I want are macarons from a French bakery haha!

As for the necklaces, I suggest Bauble Bar! Most of my favorite fun necklaces are from there.

My mom buys everything she needs/wants and hates flowers. She is not very sentimental either and doesn’t wear jewelry other than her wedding set. So…I usually get her a bottle of her favorite vodka and maybe a gift card to a store or restaurant she likes.

People always get a kick out of vodka as a gift, but she loves it. Last year for Christmas, she ended up with 4 bottles all from different relatives 🤣

My mom is sooo picky. I don’t choose something and give it to her, I take her to lunch and then go shopping with her and cover what she picks out.

Last year we did a garden center, I bought her a magnolia tree.

I always make my Mom a photo mug. She has something like 20 photo mugs I’ve made her over the years. She rotates them and uses a different one each day. Sometimes she sends me pictures of the one she’s using that day. So I guess my Mom is easy to shop for! lol

I usually get her an “extra” gift as well. Like her favorite chocolates (Whitmans Samplers) a gift card to Bath&Body Works, or a necklace (I know her exact jewelry preference.)

I am very close to my Mom though and often spoil her. And sadly, of all of her kids I’m usually one of the only ones to give her a gift, so I want it to be something nice!

rheedic :  That’s a good tactic to take! I’m really picky and always feel bad when someone spends a lot of money on a gift I know I will never use. Plus, “experience” gifts are the best!

This year my mum is getting a really fancy hand lotion. In the past I’ve given her: books she wouldn’t have thought to buy, Yankee Candles (not widely available where we live, so need to be ordered and she refuses to order things), personalized muesli, selection of fancy dried fruit…

I have never given her jewellery for Mother’s Day because she has very, very nice things already and the kind of jewellery I’d like to give her is much more expensive than what she wants me to spend on her.

SweetBeets :  Have you looked at Kendra Scott jewelry? I love the options. I usually do matching necklace and earrings sets as a gift. My step mom loves green, so i got her a set for her gift for our wedding.

My mother left when I was a baby, but Future Mother-In-Law has been like a surrogate for the last 5 years so I spoil her. She always messages me with pictures of cool things she likes and for her birthday, Christmas, and mothers day I pick a few items from the list. This year will be Dragon Wing Begonias and a mother’s necklace.

Mother’s day was a few months ago for us but I usually get my mum and Mother-In-Law flowers.

mothers day is usually close to my birthday (this year it was less than a week) so I just ask for flowers and some tea in bed

it’s the simple things that can show how appreciated mums are
