We call him Bean.  Because that’s about how small he is!

Buddy Bear (as our nicknames for each other end in Bear and our daughter is already Baby Bear).  Or Wimplethorpe Humperdink, Wimpy Humpy, or Wimpy.  Because my husband is a really bad name picker.  My Father-In-Law will just use Wimplethorpe right in conversation.  It’s cute.  After our daughter was born she got tons of nicknames but the one still used most often is Chicken–she had chicken legs and squawked like one as a newborn.

@zippylef:  My brother and SIL called their baby Pari for the same reason (and it could be unisex (Perry) before they found out she was a girl).

We call the baby by the middle name that we intend on giving. Even though we don’t know the sex yet, the middle name is unisex so it doesn’t matter much.

Our last name starts with Mac so we call him “baby Mac” or just the baby, depending on the conversation. I can’t wait to meet him in a couple of weeks so we can come up with all sorts of cute nicknames for him 🙂

Our first baby that we m/c’ed we called Gummybear. This time we started out calling her our pumpkin (October baby) but now we just call her Emma, and I like it better than nicknames. She also seems to like people using her name too- she goes crazy when we say it.

Recently…? Spartacus. At first I wasn’t amused, but now I think it’s kind of funny. My husband said “wouldn’t it be cool? Then when he comes out, we can tell people ‘This. Is. SPARTA…cus.'”

For the duration of the pregnancy (21 weeks now), we have called him “Little Bear.” I find myself calling him Baby Boy most often now that we know the gender.

Peanut because that is what the U/S picture looked like.  Sometime we call it tadpole too though.

baby bambina….but after awhile we started referring to it as our first choice name, but now that we thought of a 2nd mutually agreed on name, I don’t really like the first choice name and now DH is attached to it 🙁
