Well Bee’s? what do you call him/her?
I mean like, when you see someone you haven’t seen in a long time, and last time that you saw them, they were still just boyfriend/girlfriend, do you say Fiancé? That word sounds so foreign to me.
Do you just get used to it?

@gogogiraffes: it took me some time but i got used to it. eventually it went from weird to natural. same process with using “husband”, that was even weirder. i felt like i said “my husband” to someone else, they could see me that i was lying! even though i wasn’t!
now the thought of calling him my boyfriend sounds weird to me.

I hate saying fiance lol
I dont know why, but it just sounds so pretentious to me when I say it haha… I usually say his name when I am talking about him to other people.

I call him Al.
I call him my fiancé. It took a bit of getting used to for me, we dated so long. I still refer to myself as his girlfriend half the time our of habit. I’m just happy “husband” will be a nice upgrade soon.

@petitfour: I totally get you on the pretentious thing. I feel like it sounds so ridiculous coming out of my mouth. I try not to use labels. I use his name usually.

@gogogiraffes: It does seem funny at first — you’ll get used to it. Probably right before you have to switch to saying “husband”!

@thursdayschild: yeah see we’ve been together 7 years now, and the family just found out Tuesday when I got my ring, so it’s still REALLY fresh.
@petitfour: this is the reason it came up. We were in Target, and I came around the corner, and i was like, here fiance. And I like, had to step back for a second like, “what did I just say, who is this lady speaking? Shut up” and we kind of laughed about it.

I refer to him as ‘my husband.’ It was strange at first, but I got used to it surprisingly quickly.

It is still odd calling him my husband but fiance was really natural for some reason! Different strokes for different folks 🙂

I love referring to “my fiance”! I feel all special and usually follow it with a giggle. Heheh… fiance… fun to say. I dunno.
