@epalmisano829:  Thank you, yours is lovely as well; I’m really starting to appreciate princess cuts these days.

My ring size is a 4.5, personally I don’t want anything less than a 0.5, I think 0.7 would be ideal, and anything over 1 carat would just look to big on my small hands.

I have a .8 center stone in a halo setting on a size 4.75 finger. I’m always getting comments about how ‘huge’ my ring looks – I don’t think I would need anything bigger on my finger!

I live in London now – just moved from Boston, MA.

I have a size 6.75 and a 1.5 ct emerald cut center stone, 2 ct total, but because of the cut most people think it looks bigger than 1.5.  I don’t think I could go any bigger without it looking too big (it’s already pretty flashy) and I have pretty fat fingers.  I don’t know if you could go too small unless it’s a solitaire or something that showcases the diamond.  But I would rather have an intricate band with small diamond accents instead of a big center stone.

Here’s a picture of mine, I think it’s a pretty good size for my fingers:

I’m a size 3.5, and I don’t think I could go bigger than a 1.25 ct or so with a halo.

My ring is size 5 (but my finger is 4.75)..my center is over 2ct oval..with little side stones on the setting..I think it is not too big at all..I would easily wear a ring with a 3ct center…None of my friends have less than 1.5 centers…I live in Vegas

I don’t think any diamond is too small or too big…it all depends on what you like! I prefer smaller stones because i have tiny hands and I just think smaller stones are more elegant and dainty. The biggest I personally would go is 1ct.

I’m a size 8, or maybe a bit bigger. My hands are proportionately big; I remember my mom helping me with nail stickers for my senior prom, and most of the stickers were too small for my nailbeds!

For an engagement ring, I would ideally be looking at center stones that are one carat and up. I tend to prefer solitaires and three-stones. Unless I was looking at a fancy diamond, had a fiance on an extremely low budget (think well under $100) or was receiving an heirloom ring, I probably wouldn’t go much under the equivalent of a carat.

To give you bees a better idea of what my sweet spot is for my tastes, I will show off my favorite RHR in terms of coverage. This ring’s center stone is 11 mm long and 7 mm wide. Depending on it’s depth (which I had trouble measuring), the center stone is anywhere from 1.4 to 2.4 carats of garnet, but since it’s a marquise cut stone, it looks bigger. The trillion citrine side stones are about 4 mm each.
