So a very good friend of mine just went into labor and I am so excited for her! She is the first of my close friends to have a baby so I am not really familiar with what you should do for someone when they have a baby. She lives over 1000 miles away so I can’t go visit her but should I send a card? A gift? I did give her a gift at her baby shower but should I send her a second gift? I really just want her and her husband to know how happy I am for them!!! Thank you for the input

Everyone likes gifts. Maybe something for her instead of baby. A fluffy robe, slippers, anything soft and comfortable. They will be very tired the next few months.
Ooo one of those gift baskets with fruit or snacks. I would have loved that.

You’re not obligated to give a gift if you already gave her one at her shower. I would send a card though.

Some comforting things! +1 on the fluffy robe and slippers. If you live close-by, make her some casserole, lasagna, dinners and meals they can freeze and make for themselves without having to do much.
You don’t HAVE to send her anything, but it’s definitely very sweet of you 🙂

A gift card for a restaurant so they can get take out, or go out when they eventually feel like getting out of the house. A gift card for a pedicure for the mom, boy I’d love that right now (I’m 3 weeks postpartum)…coffee 😉

Something that I have done for a close friend of mine that I would’ve LOVED in my first weeks after having Dirty Delete….
Send her random texts just checking in on her & tell her you’re sure she’s doing awesome!
The first few weeks are CRAZY, especially if she’s breastfeeding. Knowing we aren’t alone and that someone is thinking of us, encouraging us, and believes in us, at just the right moment can be “tears of joy” worthy.
A giftcard for dinner, a spa treatment, or anything that helps her get out of the house for some her or her & hubby time is nice too. =)
