I’m an interior designer. I design hotels, resorts and restaurants! I love it but its been a rough couple years. The economy really did a number on this industry.

Other than working a few days a month at my family’s business I am currently unemployed.  I can’t be the only one?!?  I tell myself that I am a student and that is a job but it really bothers me.  I have applications out right now and one looks really promising so I’m keeping my head up.

I am a Hairstylist currently  working at a Salon that just really does cuts & styling  I also have my cosmetology  instructors license. Honestly though even though I think I am good at what i do I really dont like doing it. I love doing mens hair but thats about it..not at all womens.. i really do not enjoy doing hair. I like the industry, I like the concept, I like people but I really dont enjoy doing hair .

I know what I would love to be doing but bc of my job It would be impossible. Not to mention I would not evne know how to go about starting up something like that . I would love to start up a company that specializes in themed Birthday  for kids.

So its like what do you do when you hate your career but really dont know what what you want to do??

I am an application analyst at a childrens hospital. I LOVE my job. I work at a very prestigious hospital and I am very proud of that. Summed up…I am a builder (similar to programming but not technically…I use a unix server screen and GUI’s) for a great Electronic Medical Records system. My job is one of the few in very high demand right now…even in this economy..thanks to President Obama. πŸ™‚ I am very blessed…

My real passion…to be a stay at home mom…but I dont think that will ever happen πŸ™‚ Heck I am not even a mom yet LOL

I sympathize – I’m getting married in a year but I don’t have a set career path (or income, ouch)!  My fiance on the other hand has 2 successful careers.  He’s such a go-getter!

I’m finishing a PhD in political science at the moment – if all goes according to plan, I’ll defend in October/November.  However, I decided halfway through that I didn’t want an academic career, but since I’d sunk so much time and money into the degree I was determined to see it through to the end.  I still want a career in the same general field, and I’m starting to look, but who knows where I’ll end up?  Hopefully in a prestigious think tank or government agency πŸ™‚

Good luck to all you bees as you continue forging your own paths – so many interesting careers in this post!

I work at HOME! woohoo!

I do bookkeeping for a small business (actually it’s a family business, muh momma)

It’s definitely a great at home job.

Pretty much make my own hours, they’re is REALLY good money in it once you know “everything”, and there is very little overhead.

I do most of my correspondance via email, with a small handful of clients we call, have meetings with clients when needed (usually only in beginning for “clean up”) and it’s a pretty simple job in the software Quickbooks… it pretty much does it all for you. lol

Might be something to look into =)
