Those are both good ideas! My hubby LOVES breakfast in bed and steak.

Usually we just do something special together since our birthdays are only four days apart.

His birthday ended up being two weeks to the day before our wedding this year, so we just kept it pretty simple.  Went out for dinner and I made him a cake…while wearing sexy lingerie ๐Ÿ™‚

Steak and breakfast in bed sound very nice.

Breakfast in bed on a work day is the best! He will love that!

Be sure to have the mood set when he walks in home from work. Music, candles, and I always love blowing up as many balloons as humanly possible and scatter them all over the floor ๐Ÿ™‚

I have always gone all out.  The first year we were together, I organized a fancy dinner and night out downtown and reserved a hotel room for us.

Last year I threw him a surprise party.

This year It’s definitely going to be much smaller.

My bf’s bday was on Saturday.  We went out to a fancy dinner for just the two of us on Friday night because I told him that his friend wanted to come out with us on his actual bday on Saturday.  I planned a surprise party for him though, so when we got to the Mexican restaurant on Saturday, a bunch of our friends were there.  After dinner we all just went back to our place and drank a lot.

LOVE the lingerie cake idea!!
Too bad we’re having people over on his actual b-day, for the whole weekend… Maybe I’ll surprise him a few days before!

I wish I could give you some advice!! My FI’s birthday is on Christmas Eve, so it’s always something Christmas related.  Last year we went for dinner a few days before, and on his birthday, I had our families over for “Christmas Eve/His Birthday” and made him his favourite cake – tiramisu.  I also bought him a putter (he’s an obsessed golfer) that he was wanting for a long time!!  So nothing too exciting ๐Ÿ™  Maybe this year I’ll do a better job at planning something haha

My BF’s birthday is in a couple of months. I am going to make him breakfast in bed and a cake, like I did last year, and then make him a nice dinner… and wear sexy lingerie.

Wish I knew. ๐Ÿ™  I still haven’t gotten him a gift.  I think I owe him one from last year too.

I try to bake him a cake every year, this year it was a super-tasty mint cheesecake.

its hard because Future Mother-In-Law likes him to spend a day with his family at or around his birthday so I try and incorporate everyone into an activity. I usually will pick something I know he would/does like to do. Last year, he had never been to Medieval Times and always wanted to go so I got the whole group together and we went. And then we went for an architectual tour of Chicago a couple of days later.

Last year we went to his Mom’s house and she made chicken quesidillas for him, which is one of his favorite foods. I intend on learning the recipe that way I can make it for him this time, which she is completely fine with, and I intend on surprising him. Also going to get him an ice cream cake (he has never had one before) and I am going to sit down with him and unsuccessfully attempt to play a video game. Yeah… we will see how far THAT goes, lol!
