I like to drink tea or coffee.  I will get up and walk around for a minute or two.  I will also put one ear bud into my ear and listen to some upbeat music to drown out the background noise, but so I can still hear what is going on if I need to.  Somedays it is haaaaard though πŸ™‚

I drink a lot of water, which avoids the crashes that comes from drinking lots of caffeine, and I don’t eat any carbs during the day.  I have found that what I put into my body most affects my energy level throughout the day.

I am not a carbaphobe, I will usually have carbs with breakfast, although I try to eat something whole-grain and susbstantial so it doesn’t burn off too quickly (cottage cheese with fruit/tomatoes or slow-cook oatmeal with dried fruit are my go-to breakfasts), and I eat carbs at dinner.  BUT, I have noticed that eating carbs in the middle of the day (especially a sandwich or burrito) makes a HUGE difference in how I feel in the afternoon.  If I eat soup or salad and snack on some cheese or almonds, I have a great supply of energy for the whole day.  If I eat a carb-heavy lunch, I am picking my head up off my desk all afternoon.

Of course, getting enough sleep, taking a quick break for a walk outside, and exercise all help too, but food is the key for me.

Try to get yourself cold, if I am cold, I am wide awake. If I am warm then I am more likely to nodd off.

Drink ice water, if you have a sweater on (if you can) take it off. Depending on where you are go outside and let the temp wake you up.

haha besides the bee?!

i smoke…so that helps (but not really! its so bad) but it gets me out of the cubicle and outside for a few minutes… sometimes ill put my pandora on like eminem radio or Outkast, something upbeat that i like to sing along with. and of course coffee, though i try not to have more than one cup a day and that is usually in the mornings, but there are sometimes i go for that extra cup.

Fiance (doesnt smoke) so he goes on walks, haha, he takes 2 walks a day around the building.

I drink a lot of water, too. The added benefit is that it makes me have to get up and go to the restroom more often, which gets me up and moving around a bit, too.

Gum also helps me sometime—keeps my mouth busy but without actually eating a bunch of food that I shouldn’t be. πŸ™‚

I get 8-10 hours of sleep a night lol. That does the trick for me.

Drink lots of water and coffee.  And make a point of getting up.  Looks like you have all your bases covered though.

I used to work in a REALLY small office and my boss would give me 2 hours worth of work thinking for whatever reason that it would take me all day, and then leave me in the office by myself. Well I’d do that work, take care of other things, and then have time on my hands. I *may* have curled up under my desk once or twice for a power nap, LOL!

I’m having one of those days, too.  Right now, I’m sucking on a Tootsie Pop.  It’s really helping to keep me awake.  Otherwise, I would just surf the net until you found something interesting enough to keep you awake.  haha.

@TuckersGirl:  Ha!  It doesn’t have to be healthy… It just has to burn off slowly, so you get the energy of what you eat spread out over a longer period of time and avoid the crash that simple carbs give you.
