(Closed) What do you do to cheer yourself up?

I buy myself something pretty like a new purse or shoes, or even new jewelry. It doesn’t have to cost a lot, but something new and pretty always makes me feel better.

Usually a combination or one of the following:

  • buy myself something smelly (lotion) and have a nice bath
  • pour myself a glass of wine
  • spend time with my nephew – you just can’t be down around a toddler
  • call my BFF and have a marathon chat session
  • put on my PJ’s, grab my pillows and a blanket and watch crappy reality TV on the couch
  • get myself a hot fudge sundae from MacDees

Depending on the type/reason for my blues, I will do one or more of the following:

Bake something delicious and eat half the dough/batter while I’m making it

Go for a run

Call a friend or my mom

Meet up with a friend for coffee or a drink

Read a good book

Go to some of my fav comic sites (xkcd, hyperbolie and a half, hark! a vagrant, Cake Wrecks, Fail Blog, damnyouautocorrect, cute overload)

I have a long hot bath with a trashy romance novel. If I’m feeling really indulgent I’ll also take a box of chocolates and a half-bottle of dessert wine on ice in to enjoy while I soak.

Im  so sorry!! I hope your feeling better from surgery! I know how shiftwork goes I am on dayshift and my Fiance is on nightshift so I totally understand the whole sleeping through the day thing and then working at night. I am currently working because I am now on days and  hes sleeping because he works nightshift so when I get home hes going in… it sucks!!! And every two months it rotates and Ill go on nights and he goes on days so its always like this…So needless to say, after the weekend and 3 days of working I really miss him. However, on nights when I have the next day off and he is working Ill call up my friends and invite them over for  wine night and just do nothign but girl talk!! I find laughing to be the best medicine 🙂  Try to surround yourself with positive and happy people!

I do get in my moods where I just want to be by myself and Ill go to the gym or go to the beach or somethign. Working out is my all time stress reliever…
