There’s a bunch of vaccinations threads out there, but it’s not the only way to prevent the spread of illnesses (I’m mainly referring to influenza, colds, and other diseases that tend to be spread by coughing, sneezing, etc).

All the vaccinations threads got me thinking that flu season is coming. I remember someone who was a mooch, she used to get into people’s food all the time without asking. Including sticking her hands into a large chip bag (that hadn’t even been opened yet) when she was sick – gross! I’m pretty sure her hands weren’t recently washed either.
If I’m sick and there’s a bowl of communal food (even if it’s just 2 people) I will wash my hands after every cough or nose blow, or else I will take a separate bowl for myself, or eat after everyone else.
I find so many people have no consideration when they are sick!

I don’t do much beyond having all the vaccinations that were required as a child. Also, if I’m sick, I stay home from work.
I rarely wash my hands which I think has a lot to do with why I rarely get sick. My body has been able to build up immunity to the common, everyday “bugs”. Some parts of my extended family are very frequent hand washers and they are ALWAYS coming down with things because they’ve never been able to build up any sort of immunity to the most basic of things.
I have no issue what-so-ever with sharing drinks and food but obviously don’t do those things when I’m sick. But when I feel fine, I think nothing of it.

Another thought. I can’t even imagine wearing a mask out in public. That is just excessive, IMO.
