Books: something light? ideas?
What do you do when your other half is away? Any guility pleasures?

- Wedding: August 2013 - Brookfield Zoo
Chick flicks, kid’s movies, asian soap operas, catching up on RuPaul’s Drag Race or Project Runway, basically I marathon anything that’s been piling up in my queue that I know he wouldn’t be interested in LoL!

My fiance is out of town in his hometown starting tomorrow and then I join him on Thursday. Usually I just use the freedom to eat whatever I want (things maybe he wouldn’t like, or something – it’s just nice to decide and not necessarily have to consult someone else!) watch whatever girly stuff I want to watch, get some reading in for whatever book I’m working on at the time. Polish my nails (he hates the smell so I try to do it when he’s not there!). I usually just use it to catch up on some me time.

I always plan a girls night when my husband is out of town on business. Other then that I used to totally pig out and eat all the stuff that I don’t normally cook for us; but on WW now, so food is still the same as if he were here.
Other then that, my nights after work are consumed with small craft projects, and LOTS of lifetime movies! 🙂

Unfortunately, my husband’s new job will require him to be away more than half the time this next year and we got a taste of this schedule over the last two summers when he was interning. I mainly do/eat/watch the same things when he’s gone as when he’s home, except it’s more lonely. If it were less frequently that he was away I would probably do something out of the ordinary, but he’s gone for weeks on end so it isn’t fun.

I like to have a glass of wine or a beer with some great pasta or takeout and just watch reality TV and Disney movies.
Just a typical quiet night in 🙂
If I feel like going out, I’ll meet a girlfriend for dinner/drinks.

If it’s for a longer period of time I CLEAN! Cuz he’s not there to immediately get it dirty again.
Hog the hole bed and covers
…oh yeah, and I guess I spend some time missing him 🙂

I watch SYTTD and all those bridal shows, drink wine and otherwise be lazy and eat raw cookie dough without having to share 🙂

I will admit i kind of love when my Fiance is away. I’m an introvert and so a night alone is heaven sent. Usually i clean the house, work out and then watch any dumb movie on TV that i know he would hate but i totally love.

He goes out of town probably 4 or so times a year and I hate it when he’s gone overnight but I make the best of it. Usually have one night where I watch reruns (or the movies) of SATC with wine. Sometimes have a girlfriend or my sister over for dinner, organize things I don’t normally have a chance to do when he’s home. And I let the dogs sleep with me under the covers.
He works during the day on Saturdays and on Wednesday until around 8 or so (I normally get home at 4) and those days I love!!

My Fiance leaves town every Friday for work, so I just use it at “me” time… I do things that he may not care about.. So I’ll typically deep condition my hair while giving myself a mani/pedi, I’ll read a book, watch a favorite movie, and munch on something I love like brie cheese with crackers and a glass [or 3] of red wine.

I put on the most comfy clothes I own, sit my booty on the couch, laptop on my lap, and Netflix on my TV.

My husband deploys often and is gone for 3 weeks at a time (sometimes more), so I occupy myself with housework or videogames. There’s always something to be done.

I’ve travelled away from Darling Husband and the house a few times and only once has Darling Husband travelled overnight away from me. I ate out and came home and watched TV, cuddled the dogs and stayed up late.
If Darling Husband has something going on and he can’t make it to dinner with me, I’ll eat out alone too. I have no qualms about eating out at a sitdown place alone, although I do avoid fancy places.
