This day is off to a bad start and it hit me- lately when things don’t go smoothly I find myself getting all worked up. Angry, lingering on the issue that is bothering me and I feel like I have been negative lately.
What do you do when you feel a bad day coming on? Visit a website that makes you laugh? Listen to a certain song? Eat a certain happy food? Share your ” Calm down, turn the frown upside down and be happy” tactics with your fellow Bees 🙂

This website makes me laugh! I like lolcats too. On my really bad days, I take a walk at lunch, go to a yoga class, take a bubble bath, and hang out with my best friend (aka bottle of wine). I lay on the couch with my dogs, eat a piece of chocolate, and let myself feel as moody as I want to.
Then, I get up, shake it off, put on my big girl pants and realize: No matter how bad I have it right now, someone out there has it a lot worse.
I try to be thankful for the good things, even on my worst days.
And the wine REALLY helps.

I’m curious too! I do the same thing, I linger on the issue also until something else manages to distract me long enough to forget and move on.

Chocolate and alcohol. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is.

I LOVE Lolcats, that always seems to crack me up and lighten the mood.
I also come on here to distract me.
My main one is I put on my spanish music and just dance, it’s such a great feeling to let go all your stress while dancing – obviously I only do this if I’m at home lol…. but if would be funny if out of the blue I bust out some dancing moves on the bus haha 🙂

I try to get outside if I can, if I’m having a bad day. Moving around in the sunshine always seems to help get me out of a funk. And wine. 😉

Couch, giant mug of tea (or wine, depending), fashion magazines

When I’m pissy I just need something to make me laugh. Sometimes the Toothpaste for Dinner website will do that for me because I can relate to some of those ridiculous cartoons. I was grumpy the other day and found a case note in our system at work that ssid “NCP told me that he has no money and has to ride a moped all winter long. Told me that I’m an asshole and I have no friends” That made my day because I was able to laugh at the misfortune of the asshole who had just soured my mood by yelling at me on the phone.

Play dance music on full blast and cook a great meal. Seriously. Make yourself dance.

I whine and eat. LOL. It’s a very bad coping mechanism and generally makes me feel worse…so instead, I’ll reccommend exercise! I do enjoy a nice long run when I’ve got something to sort out or just don’t want to think about anything at all.

I cook myself some yummy comfort food (mac and cheese or mashed potatoes usually does the trick) and find the most ridiculous televison shows I can.

Goofy pop music. If I’m feeling homesick or just generally bummed I listen to Abbey Road. Gets me feeling better every time.

Chocolate. Chocolate makes everything better.
I also run my hands under freezing cold water. It calms me down.

Tell Darling Husband “i’m having a shit day” ..which means
- Make me a margarita
- Bring me my Nook/give me the remote
- Keep Maya (dog) away (she’s hyper..always)
- He’s cooking dinner
Haha love him 🙂
