Since my last temp job gig ended, I’ve had trouble sleeping. I go to bed when my Fiance does but ultimately i lie there, then look at my phone and an hour has passed. I think about the questions I need to ask the caterer. I think of friend drama. I think about going to the kitchen and making a glass of chocolate milk and then I wonder where the extra 3-4lbs have come from this month.
So now I’m downstairs drinking chocolate milk posting on wedding bee. I kind of wish my gym were open right now so I could get today’s run in. I’ve made my list of questions for the caterer. I archived a friend drama email so I don’t have to think about it. I’ve taken a warm shower.
What do you do when you can’t sleep? Also when do the wedding thoughts/midnight planning shit in your head end?

Surf the bee haha, naw… usually I’ll just stay in bed and lay there until I fall asleep, sometimes as long as 3-4 hours.

@pinkshoes: This is exactly the way I am. I’m a teacher and on summer break so my sleep is all messed up from staying up late. I surf the net on my iPhone in bed.

@notbridey: My temp gig ended 2 months ago. Fiance asks me to crawl into bed and I do but end up back at the couch on the comp. Sometimes I think about going to 24 hour fitness, sometimes I actually do it.
I play games on the comp and stock the bee boards. I worry if I will be able to find myself another job that paid as well as the last one and if this one will be close enough that my car wont have to work overtime since I know it cant handle it. I contemplate other careers that I could do from home. Mostly I try to stay positive and be happy I have all this free time to wedding plan and work out. And I pat myself on the back for making some really good decisions with the money I was making when I had it and continue on the path of crazy frugalness.

At my age (50+) and where I am in my physical life I have a great deal of nights when I have trouble sleeping…
More often than not I just get up and cruise the internet (WBee is a recent favourite), watch Tv or read a book… and wait up until I feel tired enough to sleep.
A past favourite that has also worked is a cup of hot chocolate (probably because of that long time home remedy “warm milk”)
I truly understand how frustrating it can be not to get a good night’s sleep… difficult to function when one is too tired or over-tired as a consequence in the day / days following.

I am enjoying (mostly) the free time off to plan. I sat down with the list of questions for the caterer and he was like wow, these are great questions. Well duh, all I’ve been doing is watching crap tv, wedding stuff, going to the gym, and keeping the house organized.
@Mrs Christopher: woohoo! a Denverite! I live in Boulder. These last two nights have been glorious, so much cooler!
reading a book is a good option except i only like to read in bed or in the bath. i don’t want to wake up the Fiance although he’s a pretty hard sleeper. most likely he would start talking in his sleep. 😛
I’m sipping on some chocolate milk and I’m eating a spoonful of almond butter.

I get up, drink a cup of herbal tea, watch 1/2 an hour of escapism TV, and then back to bed.
BUT! If it is not a work day, then I normally stay up.
I quite often get up at 3am and stay up til the next night 🙂

Drink a couple beers or take a sleeping pill. Sometimes I do both.
