What do people do with their bridal shoes after the fact?
I had always wanted Badgley Mischka wedding shoes. These specifically.
I bought them. Wore them. Rocked them. Don’t think it was entirely worth it bc I took them off and switched to flip flops as soon as I got to the reception (except for dance and photo moments) but whatevs..
Anyway, they got soooooo dirty after our pictures in the park and up and down the streets of Chicago. Now they are “Gray.” What do I do with them now? Can I clean them? But I can’t imagine wearing sparkly white shoes anywhere…. Do I clean them and then sell them? Do you think they can be dyed? I know they’re a lttle over the top but if they were black I would totally still wear them!
What did you do with yours? Do you have ideas of what to do with mine?

It they are satin, they can be dyed. The shop I worked at offered it as a service to brides to bring their shoes back in post-wedding so they could wear them again.

My bridal shoes were purple with bling. Fairly rewearable, but I highly doubt I’ll ever slip them on again. /Sigh. but there were lovely for the day. Even though like you I put on flats as soon as we went to the reception.

@HourThyme: Oh, those would be gorgeous in black!! Dye ’em. 🙂 I’m planning to wear mine after the wedding but mine aren’t traditional shoes – I’ve got purple shoes that also have a platform so if any dirt gets on them, it shouldn’t be too noticable. And since Mr. S is military, there are plenty of formal occasions to wear them again.

@HourThyme: I sold mine. Mine were DIY strassed shoes and really hardly showed any sign of wear after the wedding so I was able to sell them. I actually just shipped them out today!
I think I would possibly look into dying them…… that doesn’t look like a fabric that would just be able to be wiped down and cleaned. If you liked them and could see yourself wearing them in black I say dye them. Mine were full of crystals and a little too over the top to really wear again so sadly I said my good byes to them and will use the money elsewhere now!

I have the same ones but in gold and they look perfect. Take them to a shoe repair, I’m sure they are salvagable! I want to wear mine again, I love them!

@HourThyme: I would dye them a dark colour and rock them with a little black dress, or a pair of jeans!
ETA: I haven’t had my wedding yet, but I plan to re-wear mine (which is part of the reason why I spent so much on them in the first place!)

I loved my shoes, but I wish I had gone with something simpler…mine were dark purple patent leather with a t-strap and a bow…while I have no regrets about the purple patent leather, I wish they didn’t have the bow, and I wish they weren’t peep toe. As it turns out, I actually really dislike wearing peep toes. And if they were a bit simpler, they’d be waaaay easier to wear again. Oh well. I’m still going to try and find at least one other event to wear them to…
i think you can totally re-wear yours. They’d look hot dyed black, or you can definitely have them cleaned. It’s a pretty classic shoe!

i will be wearing mine… paid too much money to let them go to waste.

I wore $8 fuzzy slippers. I continue to get tons of use out of them!

@HourThyme: I’m wearing mine! They’re beautiful ornate sandals, so I’ll have to wait for summer.

I bought $34 sparkly flats that I fully intend to rewear.
I wear yours again! Why not?

@HourThyme: I am a shoe whore…I LOVE shoes and have a closet full to prove it. I made sure that the shoes I bought were all shoes that I would wear again, because there was no way I was going to buy shoes if i would never get to wear them again. I ended up with 3 different pair of shoes…I picked the pair i’m going to wear for the reception but am stuck between the other two for the ceremony. Whichever I don’t end up picking I will probably wear for the showers. LOL
