I’m super fidgety. I’ll play with my jewelry, talk with my hands, pick at my nails, play an invisible piano even though I don’t actually play the piano…a lot of the time I’ll consciously force myself to fold my hands together or hold them at my sides so I don’t look like a nervous wreck, haha.

Ditto, hcritton 🙂

In pictures I usually pose with one hand on my hip. When I talk to people I’m pretty animated so I talk with my hands a lot. But yeah, clarify what you’re talking about a bit.

On your wedding day you’ll have a bouquet, so when all else fails just hold onto that for dear life. No one will think anything of it because you’re the bride.

I actually feel akward when someone tells me to “stand there” by myself so they can take a picture of me. I stand there and I wonder “what do I do with my hands?!” Everything feels unnatural to me when I’m standing there by myself out in the open waiting for the flash to go off. When I’m walking I think I swing my arms at my side. Talking, I talk with my hands a lot or I fidget with stuff I think. I normally don’t think about it so now I’m going to be selfconscious of them! LOL

@Rosie HAHAHA, I SO thought Talladega Nights when I read the title of this post!  I think it’s best not to think about it, it’s only when I think about things that I get awkward.

I’m a hand-talker, which is a habit I’ve had to reigh in a little as a teacher.  I generally gesture around while I’m talking.  When I want to keep my hands still, I clasp them together at my belly button, either with my fingers laced or in this little triangle thing.  Taking your fingers straight together, you touch your fingertips and the tips of your thumb together.  It sounds weird but it’s supposed to look more open than clasping your fingers.  If you watch, you’ll see a lot of TV newsreporters doing this if they’re not holding microphones.

LOL Talladega Nights…it’s so funny how he keeps putting his hands up.

When you’re walking down the aisle, will your have your bouquet? That will keep your hands busy for a while. When you’re next to your Fiance, hold his hand and just have your other at your side, or have a glass of champagne! If you’re by yourself, clasp your hands together and have them down by your waist. You’ll be fine! Just try not to think about it. And for goodness sake, don’t put them up by your face like Ricky Bobby!

i have super curly hair so if i have nothing specific to do with my hands i’m usually twirling my hair! it’s a terrible habit and i’m sure it makes me come off as utterly bored or air-heady, but i can’t help it!

LOL I am the exact same way! I always make sure I have a purse or something I can hold onto in pics. My friends get upset with me b/c I usually have a drink in my hand in all our pics. It’s not because I’m a lush, its because I need to hold something! 🙂

I usually have a hand on my hip or cross my arms(which I think is supposed to give off a closed off vibe, I dont mean to!)  I talk with my hands alot also and play with my hair.  During the ceremony, once I got to the front I kept thinking what the heck to do with my hands.  I finally clasped them in front and as soon as I gave Darling Husband his ring, I didnt let go of his hands 🙂
