I took the plunge and bought a tablet! I got an amazon kindle fire. I actually like ads that subsidize it! Because of Darling Husband, I now have a subscription to google music, which allows me free downloads of music, podcasts, and youtube videos. I wanted a portable device that I could store and view/listen to my downloads, but I’m so used to using my phone and laptop for my computer needs. I’m on the fence whether to keep it or return it!
Do you have a tablet? What is its use for you?

I use my Kindle alot in bed. It’s bigger then my phone so that’s nice, but I mostly use it for the Amazon Kindle and reading. I love it though! Mine is an old one. I do some occasional web surfing. U love having it. My current one just crapped out and I can’t wait to get a new one.

I got the Kindle Fire 7in for my birthday a few months ago. I surf the net, read books and play games on it. I love it except that I can’t post on here with it for some reason. I’m going to have to look for a new browser app that might work.

I have an iPad and a Nook and I use both to read. iPad has games and such but don’t really play them much

dirtymartini: That’s interesting that you can’t post on weddingbee on it. I haven’t tried to yet. Have you tried downloading google chrome to use on it? That’s what I use on my computers and phone, so I know it will work with that browser.

We have an iPad that pretty much belongs to our 2.5 yo now.

I bought Darling Husband a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 as a gift. He kept taking our laptop to work for weeks on end and I wanted it back. He uses it for ordering parts, and Facebook, and email.

Cory_loves_this_girl: In the same boat here. My 5 year old son has claimed the tablet as his, he wont even let his little sister touch it saying she’s too little! He will even unplug our phones from the charger when he wants to charge it.

craigslistgirl: I have two – an Ipad Mini & a kindle
The Kindle goes with us on every out of town trip…
The Ipad Mini I use to watch “Say Yes to the Dress” when I work out. I know, it’s pretty lame but it’s awesome, I get through pretty long boring workouts using it so IMO it’s a great buy haha.

I have a Samsung Galaxy tablet. I mostly use it to watch shows when I’m traveling (I travel a lot for work). I watch the shows at the hotel gyms too 🙂 I have a regular non-tablet Kindle that I use for reading, but I’d read on the tablet if I didn’t have the Kindle (which actually hasn’t been working recently so maybe it’s time to make the jump…)

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab. I use it to watch shows while working out (I have an elliptical that has a tablet holder.) I also use it instead of my phone to browse things like weddingbee and facebook when I’m at home because the larger screen is easier on my eyes. I use it for online shopping, especially with stores that have apps like Amazon and ebay. My fiance got it for me for one of our dating anniversaries because he knew I love my laptop but the laptop I have is kind of slow. I like having a handheld device that is a sort of middle ground between a laptop and a phone. Plus I can easily throw it in my purse because of its size. Reading ebooks is also a plus, many libraries have an ebook program these days.

KEEP IT!! Or at least give yourself long enough to get used to it. You may find you can’t live without it!
We both have iPads (mine is a mini) and it has basically replaced my laptop. I do pretty much everything on the iPad, and I love how portable it is. I actually had to get out the laptop today to work on a Word doc and was so aggravated by how big / heavy / clunky it is in comparison to my iPad. It should tell you something that I keep it in the hall closet.
I have a Kindle paperwhite which I love, but lately I read more on the kindle app on my iPad than on my actual Kindle.

Cory_loves_this_girl: ours too!! I downloaded a bunch of puzzle apps, so I could have control of my phone again!

- Wedding: May 2015 - St Peter\'s Church, East Maitland, and Bella Vista, Newcastle
I use my iPad for everything. Facebook, e-mail, watching TV shows on catch up, playing games, surfing the net. My laptop pretty much gathers dust – the only thing I can’t do on the iPad is log into our work servers remotely, so if I need to do that I have to drag the laptop out.

craigslistgirl: So, I have two tablets: Kindle Fire and a Samsung tablet that came free with my cell phone plan. My Kindle is strictly for my books. I read in bed before I go to sleep and before, my husband would get irritated because I needed the small lamp beside my bed on. Now, I just set my Kindle to a dimmer brightness and we are both happy.
For my Samsung tablet, Darling Husband and I will use it to watch Netflix if we are out somewhere or traveling, but besides that…I don’t use it. It is too big to read on (or I would have consolidated everthing to the Samsung). I prefer a keyboard and my tablet doesn’t have the hookups to pop one in, so I will always prefer my laptop.
