I have a Kindle I use for bookclub books & ebooks. (I prefer paper books, but that would get expensive for bookclub & the Kindle versions are usually cheaper.)
I’ve been thinking about an iPad Mini – my sister has one and it seems useful. The only thing is – I already have a laptop I almost never use. I spend all day at work on a computer and don’t feel like using one at home.

I have an ipad mini that I use mostly to:
Do online shopping
Surf the net, Wedding Bee included
Watch tv shows and movies (I never use our actual TV if I’m watching on my own); watch YouTube instructional videos
Read (Magazines, books, newspaper, bible and other church books, including an hymnal)
Manage personal email

craigslistgirl: I don’t know what mine is, I got it free with our phones. The ONLY I use it for is watching Netflix/Hulu in bed. LOL!

I played with my kindle fire a bit more, and it’s really grown on me. Its main use is for entertainment, but I’m ok with that. This week amazon is having a sale on the kindle fire, so I was able to get a price adjustment. It originally cost $50, but now it’s only $40 if anyone is thinking about getting one.

I have an iPad which generally stays in the kitchen on a stand for recipes, but since I always leave it there, it’s always dead when I want to use it. If I travel without Darling Husband I’ll bring it with me for internet use and watching movies etc, if we travel together we just bring his (it’s a better model). So basically I never use it.

I mostly use my ipad air for watching youtube videos. Not much else tbh. Wish I could make more use of it but the smart phone does a good enough job with that

I’ve had iPad’s for years, love them. I mainly use them for reading or surfing the internet when traveling because it’s easier than pulling my laptop out on flights. When at home though, I rarely ever use it for anything other than reading. I *hate* typing on them. I keep plenty of kid apps on it, since all my friends have kids – and it comes in handy when we’re out and about and need something to keep them happy.
I also have a kindle that my Darling Husband won in a giveaway, so I took it because he doesn’t like to read…lol. While I like it for reading I absolutely HATE HATE HATE the freaking ads on it and that the home screen looks so junky. Again, it’s great for reading (because the screen looks like a book – good for outside reading as opposed to the iPad) but honestly I can see why they’re so cheap compared to other tablets. It’s ok since it was free, but I’d never pay for one.
Honestly I think the iPad is way more versatile, and since you can just put the Kindle App on it and still read your books I’d go with that.
