    Do most things myself

I pay for haircuts when I have exhausted my split end trimming capabilities. Otherwise I do everything myself. I’ve never had my nails done, I think it’s a waste of time/money. I’ll pluck my eyebrows so I don’t have a unibrow but don’t even know what threading means. Sounds scary.

I just realized that I don’t pay for any beauty services! Woo!

I pluck my eyebrows (I could never entrust them to someone else!) and I recently bought a diy gel nail kit. Only $50 at Wal-Mart for the kit and it works amazingly! I have my best friend cut my hair every couple of months, and I do the same for her. Neither of us are stylists, but we’ve had enough of getting way too much hair cut off at the salon and it’s not that hard.

I used to get facials and waxing done, but I’m a student now so that’s not in the budget. I’m hoping to get a full time job soon and then I will start treating myself to brazilian waxes again.

@MrsPanda99:  If you did want to start doing your own eyebrows, it’s pretty simple once you’ve already had them shaped by a pro. Just pluck out the short hairs as they grow in! Every couple of days I check mine when I’m washing my face for bed, and pluck out any that are growing in between my eyebrows or under my arch. Super easy!

@aithinne:  You pay a ton for waxing! I do the sugaring thing and it’s $42.

@MrsPanda99:  My husband tells me I’m very high maintenance, but I don’t really think so.

I was getting 2 manicures a month + 1 pedicure. But I’m letting my nails rest right now. I’ll go back to it though. I get my haircut every 3 months. I get my eyebrows waxed occasionally, but I pluck them myself mostly. I also get brazillians, but I do the sugaring thing. (LOVE IT) What I spend a lot of money on is all of my products. I tend to want nice makeup, shampoo, conditioner, etc. I think that’s why DH thinks I’m high maintenance.

@MrsPanda99:  I get manicures once every 2 weeks ($70 each time) and pedicures once a month ($60 each time). Laser hair removal every 6-8 weeks on my bikini area (about $300 a session) and underarms (about $100 a session), haircuts every 2-3  months ($100), color every 4-5 months ($150).

I do massages about once a month, sometimes every 2 months ($150) and microdermabrasion every 3 months ($200).

I don’t do much at home on my own, I prefer professionals. I’m also not very good at things like painting my nails, or dying my own hair. I also hate waxing so it has to be lasered.

    @MrsPanda99:  That sucks!

I’ve been using Clinique products for quite a few years.  I use the mild face wash or foaming facial cleanser, the age-defying moisturizer (I always wear sunscreen on my face), and intense eye cream.  I have toner (the Acne stuff for when I have a couple pimples) but don’t use it every day.

@MexiPino:  Hahaha, my husband is hip to my game with the nail polish!  “I’m saving money!  I’d cost more to get a mani!”  “Yeah… like you’d be getting a different color manicure every 3 days…”

The only thing I consistently pay for to get done is my hair. Sometimes I get pedi’s with my mom or friends, but otherwise I do my own nails, do my own facials and mud masks, pluck my own eyebrows and I don’t wax anything I just shave so I’m pretty low maintenance cost wise in that regard!

I only get my nails done maybe once a month, and I get my hair done about twice a year.  Once I get lots of white hair I’ll have to go back more often, though. >.< Oh, and I got a couple laser treatment deals, which have made things easier.  I’d like to save up to laser all the areas I want though – at least another set of treatments for the bikini area, and a set of treatments for full legs.

I do my own eyebrows and usually do my own nails, although I’ll get at least a pedicure (and sometimes a manicure) about once a month.  If I could afford it, I’d get weekly mani-pedis!

I also get a massage 10X a year because it’s mostly covered by work – not at a spa though, but at a massage therapy clinic. I’d get weekly massages too, if I could afford it.

I’m not a fan of body treatments though, because I have eczema, and I haven’t had good experiences getting facials – but I should probably visit better spas for that. 😛

I just get my hair cut and colored professionally.  Rarely do I get mani’s/pedi’s.  I used to have a membership to a place where got montly either massages or facials but I have since dropped it about 3 or so years ago now

I get my hair cut, bikini and underarms lasered and massages. I get facials sometimes. I shave my legs and don’t do my nails at all. So I guess it equals to about half and half.

@MrsPanda99:  I get a hair cut professionally when I feel the need… the last time may have been a year ago haha (curly long hair for the win) I do my nails myself all of the time for fun and do my own makeup and that is seriously it hahaha

Hummmm, might not be fair of me to vote on this question, I don’t do anything myself, I even have a maid doing my cleaning and laundry for me.

Monthly treatments (many of them on the same day, don’t want you to think that I’m going every day for different treatments).
Facial x 3 times (cleaning blackhead and pore, microdermabrasion, facial mask), nails x2 times, body scrub and massage x2 times, waxing x1 (bikini, arms and legs), eye brows x2 times, hair x1 time.

And just to get all questions out of the way and explain myself, I have a full time job and I’m NOT rich, I’m just lucky enough to live in Thailand and those treatment are not very expensive here.
In total it cost me approximately 96$ per month.

I’m not high maintenance either (except for now when I can do it so cheap), when I was living in Europe (grew up there as a kid), I did everything myself, once or twice per year I wanted to “treat myself” and went to do my nails.

However, what I miss here (that was reasonable priced in Europe and ultra expensive here), is all the yummy tapas like olives, sundry tomatoes, cheese, salami etc…… Mmmmmm water I’m my mouth just thinking about it!!!!!
Those things I only do once or maximum twice a month, and in moderation!
