I didn’t read through all the posts, but…

OX TAIL

SOOOO gooooooood.  But ppl think I’m a heathen when I have a big ‘ol vertebra sitting on my plate when I’m done.  But daaang that stuff is so tastey.

Guacamole

Ok, so guac in itself isn’t gross, but the quantity in which I eat it in can be construed as a psychological problem.  I <3 it.

Weird food people always think looks gross that I love! I have quite the list:

  • brussel sprouts
  • seaweed sheets
  • ketchup on my eggs AND mac and cheese
  • potted meat
  • chicken vienna sausage ( I know it is salty but it is good sometimes! )
  • an egg dropped in my noodle soup
  • any dark meat (had roommates in college that absolutely turned their nose to dark chicken or turkey meat)
  • sauerkraut!! can eat it by the spoonfuls!
  • sushi/sashimi
  • mochi
  • breaded and fried oysters or raw ones
  • love me some tendon in my pho
  • oxtail soup
  • artichoke leaves dipped in mayo
  • rice with butter AND shoyu sauce on it with sprinkles of seaweed on it
  • mushrooms prepared any which way (raw, cooked, stuffed, stir fried, etc.)
  • plus I can pretty much eat anything for breakfast.

@lilmiss26: No, it’s not really like quail eggs at all. I love quail eggs too, but to me they’re like mini chicken eggs. Balut is an undeveloped duck fetus or is it embryo?… I don’t know the difference.

@missfireslayer: I looove fried pickles!

@Bubu82: I love almost burnt things too – especially almost burnt chips or croutons!

@stillme: bleh! If something has a hair on it I gag and dont feel like eating for the rest of the night! But I can eat something off of the floor – depending on the floor!

Wow, I’m so not an adventurous eater.

My weirdest (that I can think of, anyway):

-Fries dipped in garlic mayo-had it the first time at a pub in Philly, loved it since, won’t dip fries in anything else (unless I’m at Wendy’s, then I’m totally all about dipping fries in a frosty, which Darling Husband thinks is super weird).

-Loads of hot sauce on eggs. And I’ll almost never eat eggs unless the yolk is runny. And then drenched in hot sauce.

-Chili powder in my hot cocoa.

-Dark chocolate bars with dried chilies and dried cherries.

-These caramels I order off the internet: a piece of bacon on top of a piece of caramel, dipped in dark chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt. So divine.

My Mother-In-Law likes to make peanut butter and banana sandwiches with mayo.

My stepmother likes to spread butter on saltines, and syrup on cornbread. She’s also been known to sprinkle salt in her ice cream.

I don’t know if it’s weird, but I LOVE to eat Mexican food for breakfast. Especially enchiladas!

liverwurst

pimento & cheese sandwiches

peanut butter & mayo sandwiches

peanut butter & banana sandwiches

banyacalda (sp?) (a paste of olive oil, anchovies that have been simmered so long they disintegrate, and TONS of garlic.  Eaten as a dip with slices of baguette.  YUM.)

Oh!  and almost forgot!  Maple syrup on tater tots!  SO good!

My friends, SIL, and Darling Husband think my habit of eating mashed potatoes (with gravy!) and pepperoni pizza together is really, really gross. I started doing it in elementary school lol.

I also looooove fried chicken with waffles and syrup, which everyone I know thinks is disgusting, even though they’ve never tried it.

I will not eat collards, but I will happily douse my corn bread with the pot liquor and eat that. Darling Husband thinks that’s gross.

Sardines with cheese, hot sauce and olives

Peanut butter and fried bananas and icing sugar sandwiches

Vinegar on everything

Processed cheese of all kinds.

And the one I’m most embarrassed by: sugar and butter… together. Yum. i’m not allowed to keep sugar in the house anymore :p
