I know people do all sorts of different things for their moms for mother’s day. What do you get yours?
Some other type of gift?
A combination of the above?
I bought my mom a purse and filled it with a few skincare items from Sephora. I made her a card too. I feel like I went all out this year though, I know I won’t be able to give her this much every year and I hope she doesn’t feel bad in the future.

haha..i know what you mean. My sister and I got together and paid for my mom to go on a trip to visit her sisters in Vietnam…she called us to say this was THE BEST mother’s day EVER! Don’t think we’ll be able to afford to send her on a trip every year!

Each year my brother and I split on something from Sephora and we each buy her a card. My dad usually buys her a card and then does some home improvement type job haha. This year we got her the Philosophy Cookie Exchange bath set. She loved it, the soaps all smell so yummy! ( :

Unfortunately my mom is hard to shop for! She says she’s not, but my sister and I have the hardest time finding things for her.
This year we are taking her on a surprise trip to Banff (only an hour drive from our home in Calgary, Alberta, Canada) for all you can eat sushi and a massage.
We didn’t have the chance to take her on Mother’s day, so we’ll be taking her on Friday. 🙂
In the past we’ve gotten her jewelery, clothes, the usual bath stuff, etc.

I went home to spend the weekend with her and made her breakfast. I also took her out to breakfast the day before mothers day. For a gift I got her a cute card, a thing of chocolates, and some inexpensive earrings.

A card and chocolate. I felt a tinsy bit bad that we didn’t do something bigger, but honestly its not like I can really afford to. I’m about to drop 3k in a week and 5k this fall on classes alone and since I haven’t had a real job yet (Um..just finishing undergrad now and about to start grad school) and she was okay with it. I think she was more happy that we all had dinner together.

Well, I couldn’t be with my mom on Mother’s Day and she’s making a trip to my place this weekend, so we’re celebrating a week late. For her present, I’m going to take her to one of those pottery studios where you can paint cute stuff. That’s totally her type of thing to do and I know she’ll love it! And then I plan on making her favorite meal for her; prime rib, potatoes, and some kind of salad. And then for dessert I’m going to make these merangue (sp?) bowls with fresh raspberries, lemon curd, and fresh whipped cream. I saw it on Barefood Contessa and have been dying to make it for someone!

My mom is the hardest person to shop for EVER! Last year I got her this amazing spa package that was like 6 hours long and included dermabrasion and other great services… she loved it. I knew I couldn’t top that especially witht the wedding coming up ao I just gave her a card and a homemade coupon for breakfast the next day and a free mani/pedi.
