Very pretty! I know that micropave is very delicate but I have a pave band and there’s been no issues yet

It’s nice, most jewellers say that because they don’t carry anything better than G/H and S1 clarity. Most diamonds look good at these specs, although be careful with S1 clarity, as there’s a wide range of flaws that are acceptable under that category.

I just got engaged Friday my diamond is 1.17 carat E color Vs1. I wear a 4.5.

SI1-2 will save you money if you want to go larger and that’s probably why they suggested it. But if you want the specs you listed above I’d shop elsewhere. Most online jelwers have excellent return policies and pricing. Also pavé settings do have the tendency to lose stones if they aren’t made right or the resizing isn’t done correctly. I stay away from pave for this reason but if you find a competent bench who does it right then go for it, happy hunting! 🙂

Pave fails when it’s been done poorly. When done well, it’s surprisingly resilient. SI1 is fine if there are no cloud inclusions. Near colorless diamonds (G H I J) are fine if you don’t need an icy cast to your diamond.

Love it, but I’m totally biased cos it’s so similar to mine ☺️

It’s beautiful! and looks lovely on your hand. Be aware that the jewelry store lighting is really beefing up that sparkle so if there’s any way you can look at your options in less magical lighting, you might be able to make a more accurate determination of how you’ll feel longterm.

I have micro pave rings and the diamonds do fall out, I replace them with cz stones because repair costs are ridiculous. I don’t recommend pave if you do anything with your hands- seriously all I did with my first ring was drive and a stone went missing.

My ring is almost exactly what you have pictured, but my diamond is an I color, VS1, .91 center. I could agree with him on the color, but its totally personal preference. However I personally would be weary of SI1. I would hand select the diamond to make sure its clean.

Also, I’ve had my engagement ring for almost 2 years and never had an issue with the pave. My wedding ring is an eternity ring. But I’ve only had it a month so can’t speak on that quite yet

If you focus on the cut, you can easily go down in color (especially in a round). Here is a 1.83ct I-VS1 super ideal cut in white gold. It is very white and so if you got an ideal cut, you could easily be in the G-I range and save a lot of money. (Again, this is with a round because they are the best at hiding color. Other cuts aren’t.)

I think it depends on the width of the band partly.  My engagement ring is 2mm and pavè. I’ve worn it about a year and a half through everything but working out at the gym. That means it stays on during cooking, cleaning, dishes, sleeping, and showering. I just make sure I use gloves for 3 of those activities for safety and hygiene. 0 issues so far. Stones will fall out eventually more than likely but it really shouldn’t be right away if the ring is made well…. Also regular and frequent inspections help. I take mine in every 2 or 3 months instead of 6 or if I am suspicious. I would rather have it checked and tightened if need be than lose a stone. 🙂
