Also, most stone sold in the stores preset are J in color. That’s an average starting point. I would agree that there isn’t a reason to pay for colorless in a round when an ideal near colorless would give you the same look (to the naked eye) with a lower price point which could buy more size.

katdevil14 : I have been learning a lot about diamonds and even joined a forum to find out how to find the best diamonds at the best price. I purchased that one at Whiteflash.com and it’s one of their signature cuts (“ACA”). They were awesome to work with and learn from too. From ordering to delivery was less than five days and that included a weekend.

It’s beautiful!!

But some food for thought: my previous ring was pave, and I found it incredibly itchy when it rubbed against the other fingers!! My new ring doesn’t have pave for that exact reason!

katdevil14 :  get a round diamond  because they have a bigger table and face up bigger , cushions face up way smaller and have a smaller look. I would love that set its gorgeous! just some advice i would avoid mall jewelry stores because they sell diamonds of lower quality for the price of higher end diamonds .

katdevil14 :  I do notice color depending on the lighting, it is not always bright white. Maybe you should go for a higher color grade if its something that you want to be icy white. I love that I never see any inclusions! I ordered mine off of Blue Nile

katdevil14 :  the center is really nice, I wouldn’t go any bigger than that personally, but I’m with the jewelers, I don’t like pave, or any stones on the band, I like metal bands.

katdevil14 :  hi there, the ring looks so classy and amazing! Also, the diamond specs that you shared are great. Having been shopping around for a ring the last three months, I would say getting an F coloured diamond at at VS1 grade is good enough as the differences are not obvious to the naked eye. That being said, those specs also indicate that you will be getting a good quality diamond. Just remember to get an excellent cut! As for the pave settings, lots of my friends have that and no one seems to have had any issues with it

My ring is  1.7 ex/ex/ex I colour VS2 (GIA) I don’t see any colour face up but if I look through the side I can see the slightest yellow tinge (not enough to bother me, but it would bother me if I could see it from the top) and I wouldn’t go any less than a VS, personally!! Try blue Nile you can really play with the settings to get a diamond in your price range and the online chat is super helpful in tellin you if they are eye clean/cloudy etc!!
