To me that halo is bulky and resembles a masculine class ring. I say solitaire all the way- an interesting ring will end up looking dated and a solitaire will always be glam. Not to mention the diamond would be nearly double the size! And you can get more interesting with the band.

KaylaFromAR: If this ring takes your breath away, I say go for it. Don’t get something you’re not 100% in love with just because someone else thinks you should. Go for what is your style and what you love. I agree with PPs that it’s always good to consider going the custom route if you have more things that you want to incorporate than the original design.
This is the Dauphine ring from Gemvara? I don’t know if you’ve seen these, but there were some real life photos in the reviews when I looked it up. In the real life photos, the ring didn’t look bulkier than many other princess cut halos I’ve seen around the Bee.

What about doing a solitaire with a peekaboo sapphire or something? Then you get your flash of blue but still get the simplicity of a solitaire. I love the idea of having the blue, but that particular halo just seems so bulky…not at all delicate or timeless. Could you maybe do something custom with a solitaire and the gemstone fleur-de-lis sides? Kind of the best of both worlds!
