@Lolasmomma: I totally agree. I don’t mind if there is a little tag with the names and date that can be taken off, but I’m personally, not going to display anything with someone elses names/wedding date in my house.

@Lolasmomma: I don’t like that either. I would rather the couple save their money than give me some useless tchotchke that I’m probably going to either leave behind or throw away.

@lilmiss26: If it makes ya feel better, I USUALLY don’t like the look of them but have found a couple weddings online that they looked pretty cool !

It’s one of those things that ppl will love or hate, but like I said before – when it comes to weddings , that’ s everything.

Every item of a wedding ( cake toppers, food, centerpieces, decoration ideas, colors, theme , etc etc. ) that’s ever been discussed in a group has had varying opinions on it. That’s why there’s never two weddings that are exactly the same . If you like the branches look then do it ! Who cares what some girls on the net think? I am sure there will be ppl at the wedding that like it too and people that don’t should just look the other way ;p

I dislike black bridesmaid dresses, I feel it makes them blend in to the rest of the guests and I want my girls to feel special and stand out. I also dislike favors with the couples wedding date and names on it…what am I supposed to do with that?! Waiting for more than an hour between ceremony and reception. Cash Bars. Cup cakes instead of a cake…this isn’t a 5 year old’s birthday party. Male guests who do not catch the garter and instead let it fall to the floor, rude. Kiddy songs at the reception…It’s a formal affair I am not going to blare the chicken dance on this occasion. Not having enough seats at the reception for your guests. Plain Jane wedding dresses…you need some pazzazz, something that makes it look like more than a white sheet, & fake flowers. Apparently I have a lot of opinions, but it does feel good to get them out there.

@Anniebo: No worries. I am not offended at all by someone’s opinion. I can’t please everyone and I realize we are all unique. Thanks for the kind words 🙂

@Jenbee: I am so over wedding planning at this point that I don’t even care. I am just ready for the day to get here and have a dang, good party. 38 DAYS!!!!!

It’s interesting to see how people’s opinions vary on wedding things–so many choices, people either love them or they hate them. I’m not ashamed to say our wedding will have quite a few of the things listed here: black Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, red shoes, red bouquets, mirrors under centerpieces, rocks in the bottom of our vases…

It really doesn’t offend me, though, everyone has their own taste! There are plenty of things I see that work for some people but that I wouldn’t choose for myself. How boring would it be if every wedding you went to was just your taste and exactly like yours? I think it’s great to be supportive of other brides, but deep down most people are naturally somewhat judgmental. It’s okay to not love everything, I just try not to bash it!

Things that are not my personal style include: mermaid dresses, huge ballgowns, the DB Vera Wang White collection (gonna get stoned for that one, lol), long satin pastel bridesmaidy dresses, overdone peacock or damask, birdcage veils unless the wedding is vintage theme, overdone jewelry and accessories.

I really, really dislike satin bridesmaid dresses with different-colored sashes.

… And hopefully people have enough confidence in their choices to not get bent out of shape if another bee doesn’t like their dress, decor, or whatever.

I wore a birdcage veil, which several in this thread have mentioned.  <shrug>.

I hate fake colored flowers.  First of all…it looks really fake, and second it smells like alcohol from the spray paint.
