@jwdesiree:
@MrsPanda99: I understand allergies and dietary restrictions but I think that is why this strawbery shortcake bar is a great idea! If I can’t eat strawberries then I can still get the cake with whip cream and other toppings or if I am allergic to dairy then I can skip the whip cream.
If I were at a wedding with a traditional chocolate wedding cake and I was allergic to chocolate then I would just be out of luck.
I think the strawberry shortcake bar is an awesome idea and I would be pumped!

@thefuturemrsjrd:
mac and cheese bar!? Omg! Yum!
@peachacid:
I have not been to a wedding where there were more than the wedding cakes either. That’s how mine will be…oh well.

@MrsPanda99: Having Crohn’s Disease means you can’t eat it…doesn’t mean you don’t like it! Are you seriously going to provide a dessert for each person’s preference? That would be ridiculous. You don’t have to take into account everyone’s pickiness…but of course you have to take into account allergies.

@MrsPanda99: Not everyone likes cake, and those people are always SOL. What’s the difference here?

@peachacid: If I like it and can’t eat it, what good is that? This side bar of attacking my preference and answer is completely distracting from the OP’s question. Am I making a separate dessert for everyone? No, obviously not. Am I going to try and accomodate and give a few options? Yes, I will (and nothing anyone says will change my mind).
I don’t think adding blueberries or other toppings is a big deal or a big expense. That is my suggestion to the OP, and it remains my suggestion to the OP. If anyone else thinks that is stupid, fine. Don’t do it at your weddng then. Either way, that is how I feel and like I said a few times now, I am happy to agree to disagree.

@jwdesiree: I think its a great idea. If you want to cater to more people maybe have little brownies and/or cheesecakes with different toppings too.

@MrsPanda99: If you read the op, she clearlys says she is going to have multiple berry options, not sure why your panties are in a wad.
I think its great!

@MrsPanda99: I’m not attacking your preference…I’m saying you don’t have to accommodate picky eaters. You surely have to accommodate allergies. It seems like you’re saying that if you don’t accommodate picky eaters, you’re being a bad host.
But whatever. The OP’s idea is awesome as long as she takes into account fad diseases and allergies etc. All of a sudden everyone’s allergic to wheat. Oh, and my niece is apparently “peanut free” which means she’s never even had a peanut. WTF.

@chasesgirl: Panties in a wad? Seriously? That’s how you talk to someone you don’t even know? Wow. Okay. I am perfectly calm and sitting here typing. I’m not the one obsessing over what a stranger replied to another stranger. You can give your response, I gave mine. Apparently enough is not enough. It’s not my wedding, so I don’t really care. I just made a suggestion.
I am done responding to this ridiculousness now. Yeesh.

My Mom and Aunt once ran a 5K where they got strawberry shortcake at the end.
It has been 20-ish years, and they STILL talk about how amazing it was!
So I vote that it’s an AWESOME idea!

I voted no. I think with Cake and cupcakes there are different layers so people can pick and choose and has more options for everyone.

I think it’s an ace idea! You could have a variety of toppings for it as well; fudge, chocolate chips, m&ms etc for people (like me) with a crazy sweet tooth 😀

@jwdesiree: I think that could be really cute, but I would definitely expand it a little more with other topping besides berries. Ice cream could be a good add on as would more chocolatey things. Some people just don’t like berries, so they may feel a little shafted.
